Activision announced today that it will show off Call of Duty: Black Ops III's second expansion this coming Thursday, March 31. Developer Treyarch will provide a "first look" at the add-on sometime that day, though a specific time or venue for the announcement was not mentioned.

This expansion does not yet have a name or a release date, but it is expected to launch first on PlayStation 4 thanks to the timed-exclusivity arrangement between Activision and Sony. Xbox One and PC players can expect to get this content about a month after it debuts on PS4.

Black Ops III's first expansion, Awakening, arrived for PS4 in February and Xbox One and PC in March. It's coming to PlayStation 3 in April, but it remains to be seen if it will launch on Xbox 360.

Awakening came with four multiplayer maps and one for Zombies, among other things. More maps and weapons are also expected with the upcoming second add-on.

A total of four expansions for Black Ops III will be released this year. You can get them all through the $50 DLC pass or individually, though if you're sure you want them all, buying the pass saves you money.

We will report back on Thursday with all the Black Ops III expansion news as it's announced.
