"The character is right for a standalone; it's just a case of timing at this point for both Marvel and myself."

For a long time now, actress Scarlett Johansson has talked about her interest in making a Black Widow standalone movie. Marvel management seems interested as well. So what's holding it up? According to Johansson, she and Marvel apparently haven't been able to get their schedules synced up yet.

"I've talked to [Marvel president Kevin Feige] about it," Johansson told Total Film Magazine. "We're creatively really compatible. I think we both agree that the character is right for a standalone; it's just a case of timing at this point for both Marvel and myself."

She added: "Marvel has a really huge roster. They're looking four years ahead. I also have a lot of things that I want to do."

If a Black Widow movie were to happen, Johansson said she would "dedicate [herself] completely to making it amazing."

"It would have to be the best version that movie could possibly be. Otherwise, I would never do it," she said. "There's a lot of great stuff that you could do with it. It could just be awesome."

You may not want to get too excited about a potential Black Widow standalone movie just yet, however. Also in the interview, Johannson said, "[I] I don't know if I have the capacity for it."

In October last year, Johansson said time might not be on her side for making a Black Widow movie.

"If I did it, I'd have to do it while I still actually wanted to wear a skin-tight catsuit," she explained. "I don't know how much longer that's going to be."

Johansson played Black Widow most recently in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. She's expected to be in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War, which we just recently got a first look at.
