Here's when Dark Souls 2 PC will unlock on Steam today

You might be able to play Dark Souls II at 60fps before you sit down for dinner.

The PC version of Dark Souls II will unlock on Steam today, Bandai Namco has announced.

The unlock time will be April 24 at 15:00 PDT, 18:00 EDT, 23:00 BST, or whatever corresponding time that is in your local region. The game is due to go on sale worldwide tomorrow, except for the UK where physical copies have been delayed for an additional week.

The PC version of Dark Souls II looks set to be the one to get, running at a full 60fps and in 1080p if your machine can handle it. There's still room for crippling bugs caused by a poor port, of course, but Bandai Namco has repeatedly assured customers that the PC version of Dark Souls II will arrive in much better shape than its predecessor.

Those who preorder Dark Souls II on Steam will also get downloads for the game's soundtrack, an artbook, and a digital comic, alongside early in-game access to 10 weapons and shields.

Ehh, tried it and its simply too hard and frustrating of a game for me to enjoy personally. I want my games to entertain me for a few hours and not piss me off. You boys have fun though, i'll be busy playing Skyrim and Reaper of souls over here

More like will, considering the graphics  look the same as Prepare to Be Disappointed edition.

Already pre-loaded it!! I just hope DSII won't become hacker infested like the first DS.

Sweet! I was afraid it was going to get bumped to Midnight EST like Arkham Origins last October.

Can't wait for 6pm! Thanks Namco-Bandai!

Would it really have been that hard to look at Steam and see the link where  Peter Thoman signed off on a much better port including mouse and keyboard controls and over-all refinements.  Peter is the guy that wrote the DSfix for the first game in case you were curious, and he seems quite pleased with it and offering more suggestions of how to squeeze as much performance/eye candy out of it as possible.

Oh people should check out PCGamer for the "dark-souls-2-pc-tweaking-guide". Just tips on improving the AA, AO & a sweetfx profile from Durante.

I was pooping rainbows when I finally managed to find a collectors edition left for preorder where I live. Suffice to say, I'm excited as hell for this game.

I'm surprised the pre-load is only 8.2 GB's. At least it doesn't take up much on my SSD.

As much as I'd love to just dig in, I think I'll wait until I'm sure it's a proper port and everything is running smoothly (if DS1 is anything to go by).

@Evil_Apai  Well your lucky.  But still a shoddy port.  Have you seen the steam reviews of this?

@Aiden_Pearce  GMG is an amazing, safe site to get your steam/pc games. I use it all the time. Nice link

@jacquelineferre  I played over 150 hrs on ps3, co-op was amazing with most players helping out. PVP does not kick in until new game+

@NoHyperbolePlz It's going to unpack to over 10.5GB's. The original was a little over 5GB's, so it's nice to get double the res textures this time around.

The console disk of DSII is a little over 5GB's.

@NoHyperbolePlz  Same, I thought it would be about double that size.
My PC has a SSD and a HDD, I put the majority of games on the HDD unless they are games I know I'm gonna play a lot. Take a guess which one Dark Souls 2 is going on.

@GabrielX-X Because Namco wanted parity with the consoles. -_-

Boohoo, the ancient hardware couldn't handle the lighting engine let's just take it out completely, because if not they will think the PC version is the best version out there (which it is regardless of that) and they will be different games due to that.

@GabrielX-X

It's just the old lighting system they have removed, which is kind of a shame.

@GabrielX-X Pc version of DS2 looks much much better than the console part and looks closer to the demos shown earlier graphics wise.

berserker66666
berserker66666

@Sl4cka I can assure you it's a proper port as seen and played by Giant Bomb. Brad and Vinny played the PC version for a while and it's solid.

@Rambolike @grenadehh yeah I dont get hyped about to many games any more... battlefield series and this..  I can totally handle another "prepare to deal with it" addition.  I can no longer play my xnes360. the grffix is more cabbage than those raddishes you pluck in super mario bro's 2

Sl4cka

@berserker66666 Yeah, I've seen the reviews and playthroughs. That don't mean anything to me, until I have a sizable chunk of people test it out.

berserker66666
berserker66666

@GabrielX-X @berserker66666 Hmm I saw that too. But I think modders can come together to improve those issues like with Dark Souls 1. DSFIX for Dark Souls 1 immensely improved the graphics. Something similar could be done here too.
