Hearthstone's The Grand Tournament Given Release Date

Blizzard announces launch plans for new expansion and teases "a few festive surprises."

Blizzard has announced the newest Hearthstone expansion, titled The Grand Tournament, will be released on August 24.

As previously detailed by the studio, the expansion introduces 132 new cards, making the "finest of Azeroth's knights and champions" available to craft, win, or purchase.

The studio is also teasing "a few festive surprises" will pop up along the way and, of course, the new Joust mechanic will also be included. You can find out what Joust is and the potential impact it will have on the game in the video above.

"The Grand Tournament card packs will be available to purchase via the in-game Shop on August 24 in the Americas and Europe regions," Blizzard explains.

"Pre-purchased card bundles can be opened upon the official release of The Grand Tournament as well. The Grand Tournament will raise its banners in Asia on August 25."
