Hearthstone out now on iPad in AU, NZ, and Canada

No US release date yet, but the Hearthstone tablet rollout has begun starting with a limited iPad release.

It may not be worldwide yet, but the Hearthstone rollout on iPad has officially begun. The free-to-play game is currently available on iPad in Canada, New Zealand, and Australia and according to a press release from Blizzard, "Pretty soon it'll be available everywhere."

The statement says that Hearthstone's player base has currently grown to "10 million registered accounts." But for anyone holding out for a non-iPad or PC version, "Android device, iPhone, and Windows tablet versions are also in development and will be available in the future."

Downloading and playing the game on iPad will also net users a free card pack whether you win or lose.

Savvy players who aren't yet in the rollout countries may find ways of accessing the game early, but then again, patience is a virtue. The game officially left beta earlier this year, though it does require an Internet connection to play, regardless of what device you play it on.

This could probably make me get a tablet... I like playing it on my laptop, but having this anywhere would be cool. It would be used for when away from home, so I could focus on console/PC games when at home.

HearthStone seems more appealing than HOTS Blizzards upcoming MOBA.

Awsome, i wonder how smooth it plays out, does it actually feel like your physically playing a card? LOL :)

@Vexov  havn't paid a cent, and have made legend last season.  If you need to buy cards then it means you stink at arena drafting...

@Sevenizz  Link a quote that said they "promise" to bring WoW pet battles to mobile devices.

@Grim_Jackal  His use of the hyphen caused confusion there, he really meant non iPad or non PC.
