Halo Producers Take Ice Bucket Challenge

343 Industries' Bonnie Ross, Kiki Wolfkill, Dan Ayoub, and Josh Holmes take the challenge to raise money and awareness for ALS.

Halo producers Bonnie Ross, Kiki Wolfkill, Dan Ayoub, and Josh Holmes have taken the Ice Bucket Challenge, getting buckets of ice water dumped on their heads as part of a campaign to raise awareness and money for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Watch the video above to see someone dressed as Master Chief dump water on their heads.

Video game industry people nominated to take the challenge next include Master Chief voice actor Steve Downes (who has already completed the challenge), Bungie COO Pete Parsons, Forza studio Turn 10 creative director Dan Greenawalt, and Cortana voice actor Jen Taylor.

Make sure you watch the video through to the end for a special surprise. The next new Halo game is November's Halo: The Master Chief Collection, an Xbox One bundle that includes remastered versions of Halo 1-4, as well as beta access to 2015's Halo 5: Guardians.

People are talking about companies using this challenge as an advertisement.

Let them. I don't care. ALS doesn't care as well, they're getting their money,

I just think that Master Chief just made this video a hell lot funnier and awesome.

I don't know why, I don't know how, but this costume made this video so much better!

343 I need this costume! I'll pay you whatever you want! Just GIMMIE! XD

I've been trying to buy one of these for ages and I don't know where!

Well a good cause has turned into a publicity stunt to sale games. Halo, COD, who's next? What is coming out that needs some help selling their game.

Ok no more ice bucket challenges. This is gotten old. If you want to donate to ALS research just donate and move on.

That was one of the best ones yet. Lots of ice visibal so you know that water was cold and Master Chief poured that water pretty slowly. Also Kiki Wolfkill is such an awsome name.

als is a scam, most of your money just goes to their salarys and new sports cars, 7% of it goes towards reaserch

So, the surprise at the end is Frank O'Connor sweeping up the ice? I'm not sure what that's all about...

Just donate some money, no need to tip water over your head, this craze has already led to someone's death.

GabeN should take the Ice Bucket Challenge.  It should be set up as some people from Valve sneak up on him while he's working on Half-Life 3, and we see a single monitor on his desk with the Half-Life logo on it.  As he gets dumped, he turns around and gives you that GabeN death stare.  That would be pretty awesome.

@deadpen Sell* It's still for a good cause. These companies have donated thousands of dollars a piece to ALS.  They run a business and businesses like good PR. This is good PR for a good cause. Why be such a pessimist about it?

@greebe55 wow do you look stupid right now. maybe doing some research could help you with your problem.

_Silent_Jay_
_Silent_Jay_

@greebe55 No, jackass, the 7% goes to administration.  27% goes to research, 19% goes to outreach and help for those suffering from ALS, 32% goes to ALS education, and 14% goes to support the fundraising drives. So, of that money, 78% directly goes to actually doing something about ALS.

@Random_Matt Agreed.  It's perfect fodder for the needy Facebook generation that needs constant attention and reassurance that they're so cool and special.  Most of them don't even care what ALS is.  They just want recognition for jumping on the bandwagon.

@Jawehawk-DK New motivator: Pay $150 for ALS research to make the Ice Bucket Challenge go away.

@SolidAshes Oh yea, this is like putting a hundred in the offering plate at church with your name on it so everyone that it passes will see how much you gave.

deadpen

@SolidAshes Selling* (What is coming out that needs help sell their game. is a screwed up sentence.)

Fine, they are giving to a good cause (as I said) but they will make 1000 times over what they gave to als. This is almost free advertising, drop a few hundred or thousand, post a video that is connected to one of the largest search words ever and boom instant ads.

Oh and you are using pessimist wrong, I'm not being negative toward ALS funding, I'm sickened by the disgusting actions of companies cashing in on charity.

hystavito

@SolidAshes @deadpen My only gripe has been that in every video I've seen, well at least the celebrity and notable business people ones, they really don't talk about ALS.  I wish they'd throw in just a minute or so maybe, maybe mention how you can donate, just something.

I realize the attention span for internet video is probably incredibly short, so maybe that would just lead to less people watching and therefore less exposure.  I was thinking about this video, being almost 3 minutes, a lot of people probably won't watch the whole thing.  Anyway I'd like to see just a few extra sentences thrown in with some kind of info.

@ShutUpFanboys @greebe55 Sorry guys but reebe is right. 90%+ for all charities world wide go to administration/salaries. Give a billion to red cross and trust me they will not give out 100 million. Most likely they will donate 10 million so 1%.

And yes PETA destroys the majority of animals they rescue lmao.

greebe55
greebe55

@_Silent_Jay_ @greebe55 my figures were right, from their offical document. in 2012 that is

7.71% went into research. its too early this year to really know what the end year % is going to be.

chimichanga69

@Random_Matt @chimichanga69 Oh THAT thing? That wasn't because of the challenge, that was because the kid tried to do it in a flooded quarry. Stop spreading twisted facts.
