Although Halo 5: Guardians is getting a lot of the attention in the lead-up to launch next month, Microsoft isn't done supporting Halo: The Master Chief Collection just yet. In a new Halo Waypoint blog post, developer 343 Industries outlined the changes coming to the Xbox One game through upcoming content and playlist updates.

First, the next content update will "address a variety of areas," including ranking. It will also add the new quitting systems and penalties, furthering the game's effort in this area. In addition, the update aims to "improve a number of community items," though these were not specified. The full patch notes are coming later for this update, the work for which is "nearing completion," 343 said.

As for The Master Chief Collection's playlist update, this will go live sometime this week. Based on feedback gathered from Halo Waypoint, Twitter, and Reddit, 343 will implement changes to a variety of playlists, including Team Doubles, Team Action Sack, Team Hardcore, Halo 4, Halo 2 Anniversary, Infection, Halo 3, Halo 2 Classic, and Team Snipers.

The changes include things in the area of map rotation, the removal (and addition) of some maps and gametypes, increasing the max party size for certain playlists, tweaking some weapon starts, and more. You can get the full rundown of changes, divided by playlist, on Halo Waypoint.
