It would be better if it's also released for Xbox one but Microsoft choices are always bad like "no halo for pc" decisition. Maybe they don't like to take a lot of profit and they prefer the one platform to play way

I still have Halo 4 laying about unopened...

Frankly, I'm more excited about Halo 2 Anniversary. And I boldly assume that they're going to release such a game at the 10th anniversary in 2014, or else I'll be extremely disappointed!

I have a lot of good memories with Halo 4. Pre-ordering it a month before it was released, waiting in line with a can of Halo 4 Gamefuel in my hand while seeing a lot of my friends and co-workers who were also there, taking a picture of myself with the game right after I got it and driving 20 miles over the speed limit to get home. I had called my friend to come over that night so we could play some MP together and pwn noobs. He showed up, and 7 more Gamefuels gone, I was having a blast tearing up the servers and talking to my friend about cool new things they added, but also stupid and dumb things that 343 had changed from Halo 3. It gave me an opportunity to play games with old friends I had not seen in a while and it held my attention pretty good for a while. Basically, what I'm trying to say that Halo 4 is a great example of what a video game can do to give you awesome memories that you won't forget. I'm glad that other people can pick up this GOTY and make some more memories.

@Xplode_77 I'm still playing Halo 4.  A hell of a lot of fun, especially now with Ricochet.

I can't believe how many people I'm hearing say that Halo 3 MP was better than 4.  Are you out of your mind???  I've lost count how many time on Halo 2 AND 3 how people were in an absolute mad frenzy over dual wielding and different game mechanics that were easily abused.  Hell, even in Reach everyone complained about Armor Lock.

Can't make anyone happy or get over themselves nowadays.  The story in 4 was great...heartbreaking at the end.  Music was awesome and added a real sense of near futility with hope not quite extinguised.  Mix in Spartan Ops, the books (read them, damn it.  Don't be a typical new age gamer who hurrhurrs over CoD) along with everything else in the universe, and it makes another fantastic edition to the *universe* of Halo.  Don't look at it just game by game.

Next, I'm going to start hearing people complain about Chrono Trigger because it didn't have multiplayer and the graphics were weak...

@KoruKinshi @Xplode_77

Halo4 is just not as good as Halo 3 and even as Reach.

Singleplayer is boring and MP is an unbalanced mess. Sure you can have fun with it but you also can have fun with playing COD.

Did someone out there actually think this pile of dog turd was the best game released in 2012?

Haha

At all the people that bought Halo 4, and the season pass, and then the extra DLC that the season pass did not cover.   All the while arguing, that there will NEVER be a GOTY.

haha

@gatsbythepig haha at all those people who paid and have been enjoying the game all this time and are ready to move onto new games instead of buying this

How about Halo 3 for pc?  Also, ODST and Reach since all sales are exhausted by now.

For those 360 owners who haven't bought it yet, now's that time. Amazing Campaign. while the mp isn't as good as Halo 3's, the mp is still easily the best.

If you need a break from the constant Modern era warfare mp focused games, Halo is an amazing sandbox experience.

Halo 4 wasnt even that good, at least compared to the first trilogy. I dont think ill be buying 5 :/

Not really game of the year material. I did think it was a really good game, if a little short.

They didn't really do enough to the MP to make it different enough, in my opinion. Although their attempt to mix it up was admirable.

game of the year editions are now a misnomer isnt it? unless they mean that halo 4 was the only halo game of the year 2012, then it would make sense...

the sad thing about me is that I always get GOTY editions but I never play or go online so all those DLC codes are just collecting dust the multiplayer DLC am fine losing out on but the single player DLC really breaks my heart, I steel have the unredeemed Gears 2 extra campaign and a full Skyrim game download code

Muteki_X
Muteki_X

@steelmouth That makes two of us, and is why I only buy GotY editions with all content on disc like SR3, Borderlands, Skyrim, RDR, etc.  Those "token" versions like RE5 Gold I steer clear of.

Aentikraist

@steelmouth but no worries there i got Dead island GOTY was awesome more weapon mods and extra episode for the single player campaign really sweet and for 40 $ not all editions are for online fortunately : )

Does "Game of the Year Edition" even mean anything anymore? It seems almost every AAA game is getting one these days. Not to say Halo 4 was bad - it was great - but I don't recall it getting any notable GOTY awards.

Muteki_X
Muteki_X

@bksonic123 Now it's just a fancy way of saying "complete" edition...since actually saying "complete" edition would be them admitting they sold you a "incomplete" version at full price.

StHapns247
StHapns247

@bksonic123 Unlike film and music there is not consortium (yet) that regulates what the "best game of the year is." When that happens we'll really see how trashy the industry can get. Just look at the current state of Hollywood and the music industry.

i just want more spartan ops, but i guess they are saving them for Halo 5

Bungie set the mood with.

Music-it was mysterious, deeper than most games

Setting- it had moments where it was very quiet with no background music and only environment sound effects (birds, deep echoing on high charity) they always gave you some sort of walk and enjoy the sights.

Story telling- they didn't tell you toooo much, it would leave you wondering even if you didn't care so much about the game.

And 343 comes in all Holloywood.

The only highlight from Halo 4 was when Cheif takes a look at Installation 03 and the classic theme song comes on.

@Evdne971

You forgot to mention the art style over realistic aesthetics from the first I guess 4 games and the fantastic palette from them.

In comes 343 and completely bogs it down with greys and blues (and even when there was more color they somehow down played it and made it seem dreary) and though the visuals are impressive...they're not very interesting.
