Half-Life Update Released
Version 1.1.0.4 of the popular first-person shooter is now available for download. New screenshots inside.
Valve Software has released the latest update to its successful first-person shooter Half-Life. The 1.1.0.4 update includes a variety of new features and fixes, adjustments to two classes in Valve's team-based multiplayer mod Team Fortress, and three new Team Fortress scenarios: Avanti, Flag Run, and Casbah. Avanti takes place on the streets of an Italian village, and it requires one team to advance their flag to three different capture points, completing the mission inside the village cathedral. Flag Run features large open spaces and complex bases at either end. Teams are required to retrieve flags from the enemy's base and return them to their own. Casbah is a more fast-paced scenario that also requires teams to defend captured flags while attempting to retrieve flags from the enemy's control.
Other changes in the update include fixes to the Linux security issue and the Counter-Strike proxy cheat. Pyro's burn damage has been increased, while Heavy Weapons Guy's chaingun damage has been reduced. In addition, all map resources can now be downloaded from the game server.
