Fans of the original Gungriffon will be happy to know that a sequel is on the way this spring for the Saturn.

Comments

Game Arts is currently preparing a sequel to its Saturn mech shooter, Gungriffon.

It features four game modes: scenario, exercise, vs. battle, and survival. This time around, Gungrifffon II has two-player simultaneous play when you link up two Saturns together (via the Japanese version of the NetLink).

In vs. mode, you can battle with a friend. In survival mode, you have to shoot down enemies while protecting certain objects such as air transport or communication facilities.

You can also play a cooperative game with a friend. GGII supports a live camera mode, so while one player plays the game, another can control camera angles just like live television coverage. If you have a Power Memory cartridge, the camera feed can be saved and you can watch your play on replay mode.

Gungriffon II for the Saturn is slated for April 23, for 6,800 yen.
