Bandai's upcoming fighting game, Gundam Seed: Battle Assault 3, marks the first entry of the series on current-generation consoles. Following in the tradition of the previous games in the series, Battle Assault 3 will be a fighting game featuring characters from the Gundam TV series.

The PlayStation 2 version of the game will feature 3D fighting arenas that are fully interactive and destructible. You'll be able to obliterate buildings and use objects in an arena to pummel your opponent. Twenty-five playable mobile suits from the TV series will be featured in Battle Assault 3, including unlockable suits from Gundam Wing and G Gundam. Each suit will have unique special abilities, weapons, and moves all taken straight from the TV show. The game will have five different play modes, including versus mode, two-vs.-two tag mode, and cooperative combat.

The Game Boy Advance version of Battle Assault 3 will shift to a 2D method of fighting and will include 12 playable mobile suits, also taken from the TV show. Difficulty settings in this version will be fully adjustable. You can choose automatic or manual mode, and then adjust armor, HP, and energy gauges to suit your method of play. The GBA version will have seven different gameplay modes, including a two-player versus mode. You will be able to link up to four Game Boy Advances using the GBA link cable and play head-to-head.

Both the PlayStation 2 and Game Boy Advance versions of Gundam Seed: Battle Assault 3 will be released this fall. We will have more on the game in the coming weeks.
