According to the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, Bandai has announced Gundam Seed for the PlayStation 2. The PlayStation 2 release of Gundam Seed seems to follow the same storyline as the original anime, which aired in Japan last October. The game features Kira Yamato as the main character, as well as supporting characters from the anime such as Asran Zara and Frey Alstar. Unfortunately, the only mode revealed to date has been the story mode. The game is being called an action shooter, and it will feature Gundam mobile-suit robots battling in full 3D. While enemies will be able to come from all directions, the controls are not expected to be complicated, since there will be an automatic search and lock-on target system called the neuro pointer system.

Gundam Seed is currently 40 percent complete, and it is scheduled for release this summer in Japan.
