Activision doesn't want to get its Guitar Hero World Tour off on a sour note, so when the game arrives in stores at the end of this month, the publisher already has a slate of downloadable content ready to go. As such, the publisher has detailed its launch-week lineup of pay-per-play songs featuring an assortment of big-name acts.

PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will be able to purchase Blind Melon's "No Rain," Foreigner's "Hot Blooded," Boston's "Rock and Roll Band," and Rick Springfield's "Jesse's Girl" right off the bat. All four songs will be available separately, with the latter three also available together as a classic-rock track pack.

The Xbox 360 edition of the game will also have a two-week exclusive on a trio of R.E.M. songs available individually or as a pack. The songs--"Horse to Water," "Man-Sized Wreath," and "Supernatural Superserious"--are pulled from the band's latest album, Accelerate, and will arrive on the PlayStation Network on November 13.

Those won't be the only Guitar Hero World Tour add-ons available that week. Metallica's currently available Death Magnetic album for Guitar Hero III is forward-compatible with the new installment of the game. Furthermore, Activision is releasing a free download that will let players try the game's Ted Nugent and Zakk Wylde-composed guitar duels outside of the game's career mode.
