Guitar Hero gets DLC encore with Modern Rock Mega Pack

New nine-song pack now available for Warriors of Rock; contemporary focus on Bad Religion, Muse, Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, and others.

Last week, Activision announced that despite the disbanding of the Guitar Hero business unit and a statement announcing the end of Guitar Hero and DJ Hero DLC, the franchise would live on with new downloadable content.
The warrior lives on with modern rock.

Today, the publisher lived up to the Guitar Hero part of that commitment with the release of the Modern Rock Mega Pack. Now live on Xbox Live, the PlayStation Network, and the Nintendo Wii Shop Channel, the nine-song track pack includes contemporary hits like Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole," Trapt's "Headstrong," Queens of the Stone Age's "Little Sister," and others.

Gamers can grab the entire pack for 1,320 Microsoft points on Xbox Live, $16.50 in the PlayStation Store, and 1,650 Wii points on Nintendo's download platform. Songs are also available individually at 160 Microsoft points/$2/200 Wii points.

Further, the tracks are playable only in Activision's latest franchise entry, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The full list of songs in the Modern Rock Mega Pack follows below.

"Sorrow" by Bad Religion
"Sic Transit Gloria… Glory Fades" by Brand New
"She's a Genius" by Jet
"Supermassive Black Hole" by Muse
"Psycho" by Puddle of Mudd
"Little Sister" by Queens of the Stone Age
"Always" by Saliva
"Hands Open" by Snow Patrol
"Headstrong" by Trapt

Prefered that other one with all the a day to remember tracks in it. It's a pity GH has finished, especially as the last was a step in a right direction in terms of setlist. What were they thinking with GH5? I got that one FREE with the last one.

@Richmaester6907 It seems this is the last DLC. Ever.

Wait so is there more after this or is this the true ending of all the DLC? I am confused? Also why didnt they just do this with GH3 you know by just releasing DLC every week rather than 3 new games EVERY FREAKING YEAR! TL DR why not do this in the first place?

I love every song on that pack. bought. Rock Band should stop catering to the Radio Hit lovers and start pumping lots of various music in mass quantity like they used to. they should also fix all the stuff that's wrong with RB3... it's so buggy.

Would defitnetly pick up Headstrong and Hands Open for RB if they become available. Great songs.... And I don't understand how a video game geared towards a modern audience releases too many modern songs????

The reason Guitar Hero failed is partly because they pumped way too many titles out, but also because the music sucks. The last guitar hero I bought was world tour and with the exception of a couple songs the majority were atrocious.

That's GH's problem. They release too many modern songs. It's store has good songs, but not nearly as much as RockBand.

Why bother giving Activision another dollar if they are killing the franchise! Most of these songs aren't very good.
