Guillemot Announces Fastest Video Card Ever

Falcon Northwest is now selling overclocked GeForce 256 video boards.

Last afternoon, Guillemot and Falcon Northwest announced the introduction of the Prophet DDR-DVI SE, an overclocked GeForce 256 card to be sold in Falcon systems. Astute gamers will remember that Guillemot and Falcon got together last year to bring the Xentor 32 SE, an overclocked and cooled TNT2 Ultra board, to market.

"It's a pleasure to work with a partner who can allow us to push the limits of the traditional PC gaming experience," said Guillemot business development manager Dave Peterson. "The Falcon SE project is a natural extension of our commitment to bring the highest performance products to gamers worldwide."

The DDR-DVI SE operates at 150MHz at the core, 30MHz faster than a standard GeForce 256, while its 32-megabytes of double-data-rate SDRAM runs at 346MHz. The card is cooled by a large heat sink and a fan, and a smaller heat sink sits atop each of the card's four memory chips. The DDR-DVI SE will sell exclusively from Falcon Northwest for US$329, and it is only available as an upgrade to a Mach V gaming system.
