Guillemot and nVidia Tie Knot

Guillemot moves over to nVidia processors as 3Dfx/STB moves into competitor position.

Comments

Guillemot Corporation and nVidia announced Thursday that they had entered into a partnership to support future generations of nVidia's 3D graphic processors. In a release, both companies say that the deal will help to deliver high performance and the best visual experience for 3D application users.

The relationship allows Guillemot access to nVidia's hardware, software and development tools for the company's current and future 3D processors. No doubt this includes the upcoming TNT 2.

No word on when Guillemot will release an nVidia 3D processor-based board. Previously, Guillemot built boards based on 3Dfx's Banshee and Voodoo2 products. Now that 3Dfx is merging with STB, 3Dfx will no longer supply chips to outside companies.
