ArenaNet is unveiling a new set of skill-balance changes aimed at player-versus-player battles Friday night, and to encourage people to try the new rules out, player-on-player and guild-on-guild violence will be rewarded all weekend long with extra faction points.

The PvP Extreme Weekend, as it is being called, runs from 12:01 a.m. this Friday until 11:59 p.m. Sunday. During that time span, wins in high-level arenas and tournaments will net players five times the normal amount of faction points, while the winners in guild-versus-guild play will get two-and-a-half times the points. Faction points in Guild Wars are used to gain new skills, weapon upgrades, and runes to boost armor.
