Drinkbox Studios has revealed the release dates and price for the current-gen and Xbox 360 versions of Guacamelee!, its 2D beat-'em-up adventure game.

The game will launch on July 1 for PlayStation 4, and July 2 for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Wii U. It will cost $14.99.

This version of Guacamelee! is called the Super Turbo Championship Edition. It features a number of additions and changes to the original game that released on PlayStation 3 and Vita last year. According to Drinkbox, there will be new story content, new abilities, and new areas to explore.

You can read the full list of changes here:

  • New Game Areas – Players will ride boats through the Canal of Flowers to save a besieged fishing town, and avoid lava as they climb through the fiery Volcano

  • New Boss – Face off against the deadly Trio of Death, a three-headed skeleton that lives in the Volcano, who helps the evil Carlos Calaca build his skeleton armies

  • New Abilities – Maximize destruction with the powerful new INTENSO combat mode and dish out scrambled pain with powerful Chicken Bombs. Plus, swap dimensions independently in co-op play using the new Shadow Swap ability.

  • New Enemies – Lethal new elite-class enemies that want to chokeslam luchadores to sleep

  • Support for multiple save slots

  • Dual currency system that supports permanent item unlocks

Drinkbox Studios recently announced its next game, Severed, a gesture-based combat game for mobile devices. The developer is considering porting it to other platforms, though.

GameSpot reviewed the PS3 and Vita versions of Guacamelee! last year, and we thought that it was fantastic.
