GTAV themes now available on PSN, Xbox Live

Premium themes and avatars available today for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

New Grand Theft Auto V themes and avatar images are now available on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, developer Rockstar Games announced today.

The official PlayStation Network GTAV theme ($2) features a rotating selection of the open-world game's artwork, including depictions of protagonists Michael, Trevor, and Franklin. New GTAV-themed PSN Avatars are also available today for $0.49/£0.21/€0.25 each.

For Xbox 360 users, Rockstar Games has released a premium theme featuring artwork of Blaine County, South Los Santos, and Vinewood, among other destinations. The theme is available today for $3.

GTAV launched last month and generated $1 billion in three days. The game's multiplayer mode--Grand Theft Auto Online--launched on October 1 and was riddled with bugs at release. As compensation for these issues, Rockstar will give players $500,000 in GTA$ (across two deposits) as early as later this week.

Haha, I'll stick to the free GTAV theme that's just about as good that I downloaded from some site.

They can't fix the bugs so let's release more generic stuff while the game continues to be a bane for a great many people. Hell since Day two the game worked fine for me and I haven't touched it in 2 weeks out of sheer boredom.

I'm quite happy paying for animated themes, but I honestly can't be bothered with the static ones. You may as well download some screenshots off the 'net.

R*: Offers free gifts. Delays it because they are too busy creating more paid transactions.

It still pisses me off that even after all these years, they are still charging for wallpapers on the consoles but they are free on PC and are even the same images or artwork.

Yeah, I agree. Wallpaper is advertising for the company and the product.

@SteamyPotatoes How dare they ask money for their creations! They need to whip those employees harder and pay them nothing. Those pigs!

@MAGIC-KINECT Themes don't rely on the game's software to function, and you're not going to lose them if Online is still riddled with bugs. That is precisely what could happen with the GTA$.

@MAGIC-KINECT Can't hate on them for doing what every one else on the word is doing, trying to make some cash.

@Lhomity @SteamyPotatoes 1 billion isn't enough revenue let's be like the US Gov. take take take and only give us excuse and lock our government over stupid decisions by a president that shouldn't have lasted as long as Nixon.

@Lhomity copied and pasted a few free wallpapers and slam a price sticker on it, yes how dare they, nickle and diming at it's finest.

@MigzBR @MAGIC-KINECT  True, but they should fix their broken product 1st before offering more crap to download for said broken game. Make good on their restitution for their $hit online product. Oh well. :) Maybe it's working better now.

@Lhomity @SteamyPotatoes it is, it should at least be free if you bought the game. we are getting milked from every possible way/direction/angle

Oh snap. He said they're greedy.

@Lhomity There just reselling assets in theme form, just like they added fee 2 pay option to multiplayer, they make enough money and now they're just getting greedy.

@SteamyPotatoes @Lhomity  Inorite. Because it's not like they employ artists to actually create those images either. We all know they don't even make any effort anyway. Slackers.

And those PS3 themes, some of them are animated, and replace the icons and sound effects across the XMB, etc. And they want money for their work? OMG those assholes!

Outrage! Outrage! *rabble rabble*
