Grand Theft Auto V is currently scheduled only for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but thousands and thousands of gamers are calling for the open-world action game to come to PC. A petition posted to Change.org calls on Rockstar Games to bring GTAV to PC and has more than 50,000 signatures as of press time.
"Please release GTA V on PC," the petition begins. "GTA games have been a large part of so many peoples lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a huge part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have."
Last week, Rockstar Games cofounder Dan Houser said PC and Wii U versions of GTAV were "up for consideration." The most recent entry, 2008's Grand Theft Auto IV, released for PC seven months after the console versions shipped.

cancelled my xbox pre-orders. tried GTAIV on the xbox and noooo waaaaay am i gonna get GTAV on xbox..... bring it to PC and you can have my money.
One question. Where is the petition?
Beggars gonna beg.
It's apparent that pc gamers and console gamers are jealous of each other. One group wishes they had the other's hardware while the other group wishes they had the other's games.
What's funny is that console gamers don't see it, but consoles are gradually becoming little PC's (hard drives, online, now Steam?). Pretty soon console gamers'll be upgrading their own RAM for their consoles and playing console FPS titles with mice & keyboards from Sony MS & Nintendo. Then we can all shut the fuk up n play.
They are stupid if they don't release for the PC.
I still haven't bought a 360 or PS3 after all these years -- games are too expensive, and the controller offers limited control over a mouse and keyboard. FPS's and RTS's are unplayable without a mouse and keyboard.
signatures are completely unnecessary. Pc version will be true a year after.
Where do I sign??? I know the fiance will buy it for his PS3 (PSIV maybe???), but I would like it for the PC due to the fact that I prefer that over any console.
Oh crap, every single company is complaining about piracy, piracy has been there since DOS Games -if you know whats DOS-. the real issue is they dont want to put extra money to optimize a PC version of the game while sales will not be millions like consoles. so consoles sales are more profitable and less effort.
however, piracy takes a little part, but a pirate will not buy the game if its not pirated by crackers because he never intended to buy it in the first place. so piracy has little effect on sales not as huge as they pictured it.
If theyre gonna pull the same crap like they did with GTA4, like making you reguster on a bunch of sites and requiring an internet connection then screw that. I still have GTA4 on PC barely untouched and I paid 70 bucks for it, yet after 3 months I bought the PS3 version and played it happily ever after.
It'll be considered and released 6-12 months after consoles once sales are counted. I hate the fact, but I am prepared to wait. I just wish Red Dead was given consideration. I finally gave up and bought for xbox 360 and it was glorious fun!
GTA V, being a console port (yes that is what it is called even though created using computers), it'll be better graphics for PC but the framerate, pop-ups and glitches will be there just like console version. At least GTA IV got better with age on PC. GTA IV console version still looks and plays the same on xbox 360 as it did on release.
I'm with Rockstar. GTA5 is a huge investment and they need to secure sales. Although, if this was released for PC I would buy it regardless, but there is a big issue with piracy. And I would hate to see Rockstar lose any profit on this game. I love GTA and it's one of the few console game purchases I will make this year. 150k people is nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands who will illegally download this. Releasing it for PC a few months afterwards is acceptable if they take some hits afterwards because they will have made enough money off it it's launch. Piracy for consoles is small, so it's not a big threat.
I don't know how pc wouldn't be considered initially after seeing what ICEnhancer did to gta4. Unless this is just to protect their ego in who can really develop: An established company or a group of determined individuals who just want to make a product better.

Im both console and pc Ive bin on both since i was yonung, I hate this oh pc gamer this that console gamer this that both are GAMERS one thing. They should bring this to pc why would you not make a game for all console and pc = more money I have really thought of trying to get into the gaming industry it kill's me that the market is saturated with tons of shit games and really only a few good gems. Games should be made for all systems but they need to be well done polished properly no bugs no shit story lines not the same game over and over with nothing more then drive here shoot this guy drive this place repeat.
If it's not on PC, I won't be getting it as I don't have a console and have no need for one.
That said, I understand making a PC version is a LOT of technical work, with the compatability issues, and given Rockstar's track record, they don't particularly care for that.
Fuck Rockstar
PC gamers begging for console games, what else is new. :lol:
I have a bad feeling about this... Why can't they see that the PC are way more profitable than consoles? And I presume the Xbox 360 version ain't got the muscle to run this at 30 fps like the predecessor... So the Ps3 version will hopefully run it at a smoother fps as the specs are FAR more superior than the good old 360. Have both of them, but still, only the ps3 exclusives actually push the true potential out of the Ps3, but we will see... oh.. almost forgot that it will probably only be 720p on the Ps3 version as it's not an "exclusive".. as usual.. Annoying shit, if you'll ask me.. but that's how this forsaken Gaming market have become through wrong decisions, bad leaders, bad publishers etc.. Thumbs up for those petitions! We need more people like that! Step it up! \m/
Its beyond 100K wtf?
Both PC and console gamers are idiots, case closed, have fun and shut up.
Hang on.......there will be a PC version a few months down the line after the console release; or have Rockstar specifically said that they won't do a PC version??As far as I remember, it was the same for GTA IV, a X360+PS3 version was announced initially, while it was ported, albeit in quite a shabby way, for the PC some 10 months later. And if I recall correctly, the PC version of GTA IV sold quite well too, bugs and performance issues notwithstanding.
Seriously why even bother as pc gamers we will get just another poor import...
PS: Edit Button will be greatly appreciated.
I'm not fan of the GTA series, or its ripoffs. but glad PC gamers hopefully get to experience it.
what will be the pc specification if it comes on pc???
I hope they don't release GTAV for PC, guy's who played GTAIV you know how badly Rockstar screwed that up for us with the bad "Optimization and CPU hogging", not even the top range PC could play it perfectly and it was still bare bone playable. Don't get me wrong GTAV looks amazing but I know Rockstar won't pay any attention to it when it goes wrong like what they did with GTAIV, yeah they released a few patches but it didn't fix much.
Also aswell Rockstar including the Windows live login in order to play GTAIV was a pain in the backside. Sometimes it wouldn't work and exit to main menu.
L.A NOIRE was a better attempt but because GTAV will be bigger and better I don't think any PC will be able to play it except the rich kids who can afford the Intel I7 high end CPU.
Thats my opinion on the matter who knows Rockstar may just may make it better and playable but I ain't wasting my money on the PC version. I will be buying it on PS3 tho :P.
@cubd1 Agreed for RTS's, though I couldn't imagine playing an FPS (or several other genres, such as any but the most simple of platformers) on a keyboard and mouse.
@cubd1 The price thing I agree with, but its a misnomer that FPS's are unplayable with a controller...as evidenced by the 100's of thousands of Call of Duty and Halo players alone. It's simply a preference or a bias. RTS's on the other hand are inherently better on a mouse and keyboard due to the sheer number of buttons required.
@forsites And so far, every console has been victimized by piracy anyway, so it's a weak argument. The diminishing market size, however, is a very real factor for developers. Ironically though, the more consoles continue to evolve into what are essentially single form-factor PC's, the PC gaming market is poised for a turnaround if developers simply put some pressure on the console manufacturers to insist developers make games, especially multiplayer-centric ones, compatible across ALL platforms. Technologically, there is no longer any reason why this would not be possible.
@forsites You have a point, a very big portion of pirates simply dont have money to buy the game ever, others pirate it because they are mature enough not to fall for hypes, get a broken product, and try it before supporting the company. And the rest who really can spend the money but just pirate it are just morons.
@MaskRisen How stupid. I pirate more games on my 360 than on my pc. Why? 2 words, Steam Sales.
@gibbey531 What. If developing is the skill in question, why doesn't the modder develop a game? Exclusivity sells games for Microsoft and the Sony products. If people knew the game were just going to be on PC, it would drive away sales from these companies. Good guy GTA publisher gives a piece of the pie to Microsoft and Sony.
@MrOnage But sadly, how many of these 158k will buy the game. 50%% or more will probably pirate it. I'd love to see it out for PC but I can understand why rockstar would be hesitant. Why go through all that work when huge numbers of people will find a way to get it for free?
@stev69 Ahh, seeing a pc gamer pissed.. you mad?
@Pete-B Wow... are you dumb or just plain retarded? Do you even know the origins of GTA?
@Pete-B You do know that GTA was made famous on PC, right?
@alenth booo f#cking hoo u m#therfuckin idiot .. f#ck u doing at GS u'r a$$ is not interested in playing games
@alenth Yeah, BOOOOO !!! PICK A SIDE !!!
@alenth booo
@saudgamermalik Probably an insanely high end CPU, since GTA developers have never figured out how to use a GPU correctly.
@saudgamermalik in 2 years. they just need to come up with them.
@saudgamermalik Funny that you ask.
When they
showed the first trailer and images most users said it was a next gen game running on a high end rig.
That was back before the official announcement saying it's only on PS3 360, now suddenly it doesn't look so good anymore.
@zeussrapidfire
Not trying to be rude or anything.. but you don't need a "high end" i7 to play PC games.. a very basic i3 with a decent GPU can play PC games (better than console graphics).
@zeussrapidfire They learn from their mistakes and right now they think it's a good idea to not do it at all.
@Circumvent954 @MaskRisen Console game prices of new releases are always way too expensive. Many console owners may scoff at the price of a gaming pc, but 9/10 times I'm paying half the price for PC games through sales and promotions.
@LOXO7 @gibbey531 Total Fail. The best modders do in fact make their own games. Counter-strike, Garry's Mod, Day-Z, Team Fortress, and Red Orchestra. You say if people knew that this GTA V title would only be for PC's, it would drive sales away from Phony and Microshaft? Who said they wanted this game to be a PC exclusive? Your logic is bad and you should feel bad.
@raiden-94 grow up
@Locruid @Pete-B
Not only made famous with the mods, but the first GTA game WAS a PC game... Not a console game (at least for a few years).
@Kane04 @saudgamermalik ha. So true. As if Rockstar would make such an expansive game with so much detail packed in it just to have it all stripped down so consoles can run it. Mark my words: GTA V will come to PC, it WILL be fully optimized, and it WILL be exponentially better than console (graphically). On a side note.. It's incredibly disappointing seeing all these AAA developers not giving a sh*t about PC gamers. WE STARTED GAMING. I'd also like to say I have a 360 and PS3 along with my supercomputer (made it for REVIT architecture, dominates games).
@gowthamrkm
I didn't mean it like that I was only speaking about GTAIV only, I know the set up you mentioned is fine for playing games just bad game developing by R*.
@NeoMortiny
Oh right lol, thanks for letting me know :).
@Circumvent954 Who did say gamers wanted it to be a PC exclusive? You are ignorant. You feel smart.
Stev needs to grow up too.
@ShadowOfKratos He never said anything about GTA's history and where it started. What Pete said was true. GTA5 is a console game as of right now.
@zeussrapidfire @gowthamrkm Max Payne 3 on PC was incredibly optimized. It is also the exact same RAGE engine that rockstar has used this entire gaming generation. It will come to PC and it will be optimized.
