A recent update to the Steam version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas makes it incompatible with old save files, and removes 17 songs from the game's original soundtrack.

RockstarNexus notes that these are the same songs that were removed from the mobile version of the game, presumably due to licensing issues. It also found that the update removes several resolution option, including 1920x1080, which was broken in the initial release, then fixed in a different update. If you'll try to load a save file from prior to the update, you'll just start a new game, but RockstarNexus also points to a user-created patch that should work around that problem.

The update isn't all bad news though, as the game now support Xbox 360 controllers.

This update surely has something to do with the new Xbox Marketplace version of San Andreas, which now features 720p resolution, enhanced draw distance, and Achievement support.

Grand Theft Auto V comes to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 18. The PC version is scheduled to launch in January 2015.
