GTA Online stimulus package now expected end of next week

Rockstar now targeting first half of in-game money to be delivered to players by end of next week.

Grand Theft Auto Online players are going to need to wait for at least another week to receive the first half of their promised $500,000 GTA$ stimulus package.

Rockstar Games announced today that the next title update for GTA Online (1.05) addressing player progress loss issues will be available early next week. After this, the developer said "we hope" to be able to deliver the GTA$ Stimulus Package by the end of the week.

"A big thank you to GTA Online players worldwide for your continued patience and understanding and we will continue to keep you all updated," Rockstar said.

When Rockstar originally announced the $500,000 of in-game cash for players (to be delivered in two deposits of $250,000) earlier this month, the company said it would not dole out the money until the game was stable.

Grand Theft Auto V has shipped 29 million copies to date, though it is unclear how many have been sold to consumers.

i wish you could buy more than just houses/garages... like in the story, you buy businesses to earn money... thatd be ideal...  maybe someday, huh?  well, time to start playing other games anyway... big back log of games to work on..

After a month, GTA online is boring as heck....Same old missions over and over...

Since my profile on GTA Online is now saving correctly, I'm TOTALLY psyched for the cash to upgrade my weapons, my car, and buy some great garages.

tbh the money feels useless. after you buy the 250k house and the top cars and bikes. your money is boring after that and you only need 30k once in awhile to refill ammo thats goes out like a joke.

i went down about half this list and found only three people say anything good about gta online. ive been playing it since i finished single player and have enjoyed every second of it. who cares if people cheat and make millions on selling cars. its not like there's a limited amount of wealth in this world where it will run out and the rest of us will be on the street and fight the homeless under the free way for food and a bottle of whiskey. since socom on the ps2, this is the first time the ive really enjoyed a online game for more then a few weeks. and they dont have to give you free loaders this fake game money. i for one would rather earn it in game. thats one of the fun things about this game i thnk so anway. keep you fake money rock star. i dont want you charity!

Its time to pack up and go.  R* would be wise to release the next patch, DLC pack, and stimulus, and then GTFO.  There is no way the shareholders are going to let too much of that profit float off into thin air with the development costs of trying to fix this game properly, or adding content.

reputation counts for shit in this industry.  EA proves that with every franchise they buy and molest and then make profit from .  In time people will forget about this disaster and just remember GTA 5 as the game it was.  A great single player game.  not R*'s huge failure...

you may think you are loyal fan and that companies are loyal to you, but that is foolish.  one must not forget who signs the paychecks at these companies.  well, they aren't game enthusiasts, and they dont give 2 shits about your patronage.  They are investors who care about one thing.  ...and who could blame them?

A big MIDDLE FINGER salute to ONLINE multiplayer stuff in all games. Online has RUINED gaming IMO. Where are the quality single player experiences any more ? GTA V had a wonderful single player story. This online piece of trash ruined it for me. All I ever enjoyed were the races !!! Who would have thought that, given there is NFS, Forza, GT etc available to us. Now we will get CODG, BF4 which will be equally crap and ridiculous turning players into mindless bots, running and gunning down the same shit over and over again. Then those developers will further sell shitty DLC maps, weapon packs all which could have been free with levelling up. This whole online has destroyed gaming. Give me my RPGs, action adventures, platformers etc with a rich single player experience any day.

A big disappointment with GTA V is the lack of COOP within the single player mode.  I would much rather be able to do that than the online stuff. They did the online stuff it appears so people would by GTA money with real money . But now that looks like a complete fail. I for one will not be spending my real money on  GTAonline. I already paid $80 for the deluxe version. I love the game. But also disappointed with the GTA Online experience.

Sorry to say this but Rockstar totally f**ked up a masterpiece with this online CRAP. Well F**K it. I don't care. I already beat my single player campaign, achieved gold medals in most missions and had my fun with Chop the dog. Returning my copy today to Gamestop and putting cash towards my next gen system.

Can we all take a step back and remember what made grand theft auto amazing for us in the past? Hasn't all of the games' missions been repetitive? The customizations were atrocious in anything earlier, and online play is really something new if you don't count the crock of shit from gta4.

What made this game amazing was the bullshit shenanigans you'd pull off, whether with friends or not. I've had plenty of parties where all we did was take turns to see who could die in the most epic way back in earlier gta's. All the complaints about gtav's online are irrelevant to me. What gives me the best experience is being able to play with my friends and still do all the things we used to, but in a new environment. Just that, to me, is worth the price of the game, and worth the wait for patches and whatnot. If you don't have any friends and have no fun, take your sorry asses off the servers and shut the hell up.

FYI R*, there are hundreds of videos on one of the easiest glitches I've ever witnessed on youtube; you can make a million in literally 15 minutes. Nobody cares about this package, money is weightless in this universe. This online is really poorly executed. It's not an MMO, and it isn't a good multiplayer attachment (it's almost impossible to just enter a TDM with friends). Character creation and customisation is laughable, yet they emphasised this "attachment" you were supposed to feel with your online character, and carry him through until forever. Missions only ever require you to engage in gunfights, regardless of how you approach it.

Don't think there's much you can do to save this, it would require a lot of work and time. Take it for what it is, another disappointing multiplayer from R* that gets boring quickly.

MP3 is a better game.

P.S. I hate when developers have your LQ character running around with HQ peds, I'd rather the peds be LQ to match us; makes your character look even more stupid!

I would assume it's best to wait until they get things worked out before I jump in. I am pretty sure there will still be lots of people playing still. For those that have played it, what do you think of it?

I love how everyone's complaints in the comments section have simple solutions and none of them pertain to what I THINK is wrong with the game like: Low health, AI's aiming being too good, game glitches, etc.
To me elements of the game that don't make it as fun to me. I like having a good chance to live rather than take 2 shots and be dead.

LastxEcho

Personally I think we should just completely reset the Gtaonline. Yes everybodys character and money and start us out with the half million dollers. But first fix everything wrong with the game. I know people worked hard but its better then watching other people kill you with miniguns after they got them unfairly. I know you can just go into solo or friends/crew only but what is the fun in that. I know alot of you will not like my idea but I do.

Ok as a fan R* and customer who bought GTA 5 Special Edition. I don't understand what everyone is complaining about. No matter what game you play there will always be gamers who find away to use tricks to make there experiences easier. So why complain especially, in this case? As mush as love and respect R* they have to admit that they dropped the ball here. They made and economy based game and didn't make sure that how money was earned was secured. Honestly I feel that this why people are complaining so much because people are pissed off that they don't have what other gamers have earned based on the games earlier rules and faults. So what if we lost character ranks you can get your rank up to 40 and earn the best apartment in a day of just racing. I lost my character rank at 26 now I have two over rank 40 off of just time and patients. So everyone please stop bitches about the stimulus packages and game glisters and allow R* to focus on releasing the heist missions. The game is still awesome and worth every penny so, just be honest with yourselves stop following all the impatient complainers and just enjoy the game.

I don't care about the money. I make enough doing jobs even with the cuts and I work full time and don't even play every day so I don't understand the crying.

My gripe is with all the trash they talked about call of duty in their radio station commercials. Call of Duty never randomly prestiged peoples accounts. Here we are a month into their online release and they still don't have their act together, making and failing to deliver on promises on a weekly basis. Get all your ducks in a row before you start casting stones R*

Glitchers can make $500K in about 20 minutes selling cars at the LSC over and over. Keep the money Rockstar, you done goofed your game up real good this time. I don't think anyone will be playing once COD Ghosts hits, GTAO is going to be a ghosttown.

P90SupportClass
P90SupportClass

Well doesn't mean much to me now. Already beat the game, reached 70 and have about 1 million saved up. Ill use the 500K to put bounties on people all day from my penthouse. Then send mercenaries at cheaters who camp at weird locations. I'll act as the Matrix by governing the words digital GTA society secretly. Just call me Mr NWO. muhahahahaw

smiffy22

So all you whiners want them to give you 500k that you have had a month to earn for yourselves, when the games issues haven't been fixed yet, then if you lose it because of a bug come back and whine some more?

Lol everyone talks about quitting, moving on, etc. When the patch comes out, they'll be right back. STFU and just wait a few days. Go hug your dog, or something. I think R* can improve in some ways too, but you gotta remember its still new. I don't expect for things to take off for real until Jan 2014. Honest truth. I will happily play with my friends until then too. Because its FUN! FUCK all you cheaters, go read a book.

@conway4590 You don't have to take the "charity". Buy a car and sell it for half the price over and over until the money is gone. People aren't freeloading, they asked for the progress they made in that game back and then had to start fresh. The money is compensation for the work people put into the game and for the terrible online rollout which was a complete disaster only to be topped by the Obama Healthcare website.

@starjay009 i would agree with you. i have not really played online since the days of socom on the ps2. but i really enjoy the online. if you get a few friends together and just mock about it great. for once i like the online in a game. i would never trade it for the single player but i like they addition of it.

@starjay009 didnt you answer your first (and main) question in an almost incestuous way in the very next sentence?  ...and how did the online component ruin the sp for you?  I'm fascinated by your seemingly endless ability to contradict yourself.

you are what I imagine a dog would sound like if it could communicate with humans.

spartanx169x

@starjay009 To add to what you said. Most developers have replaced the private "playing with friends" setting for full on multiplayer with strangers. the lst couple of years a lot of games do not allow for more than one player to play on the same console at the same time. So for me to play with friends they have to bring their console and their game and their TV for us to play in the same room on the same game.

@dsargent77 You must be a chick magnet throwing parties like that. Sorry honey I cant spend time with you tonight because dsargent77 is having a party and I want to show them my epic double car flip, jump out of the car mid air while I shooting a grenade launcher into the air and the round lands on my head as I fall to my death. They will all think I am super cool so you just stay home tonight and watch Friends reruns. I hear wedding bells.

@ninth537  I was about to say the same thing. Too little too late. Especially since the release of 2 more popular online franchises. No one will be really playing this shit. They had a month to get this right and they blew it

@tightwad34 If I were you I would wait, unless you have no plans of jumping to the new consoles anytime soon, but personally, I'm over it. I thought it would hold my interest and give me some time to make a decision on what to do come time for the PS4/ONE whatnot, but I was wrong. You should definitely try it first though, you may fall in love with it. it's not bad, I was just never big on R* MP in the first place.

Exactly! I waste $400 on "heavy" armor and, like, 3 hits on me and it's gone! I don't even buy it anymore.

@LastxEcho Just an FYI, you can get the firepower of a level 100 as a low level. Do a Survival and eventually you'll have gotten ammo for almost every gun class, have gotten the auto-shotgun, gotten all 3 assault rifles, Sticky Bombs, and a Minigun with 9999 ammo if you get to the latest rounds AND it carries over to free-roam and any missions you do while you're on. There's no reason to reset everyone's stuff when you can just as easily get what the level 100+ have.

@TacticaI I am planning on waiting a little while for next-gen. There aren't enough titles that jump out at me on launch to justify buying a PS4 just yet. I too am not big on MP for any game sans Dark Souls and Demon's Souls. But the idea of this MP does intrigue me yet I am still not even done with the single player. I will try it out sometime soon. Hell, I don't even know my PSN password, that's how often I log in LOL.
