GT4 and PS2 hook up in Japan

TOKYO--Sony Computer Entertainment today announced that it will release a limited-edition PlayStation 2 bundle in Japan on December 3, day and date with the launch of Gran Turismo 4. The 23,800-yen ($223) bundle, called the PlayStation 2 Racing Pack, will include the new, slimmer model of the PS2, a copy of Gran Turismo 4, and one Dual Shock 2 controller.

Sony also announced that the slick black-and-white packaging for the bundle was designed under the supervision of GT4 director Kazunori Yamauchi. Buying the bundle will save consumers about 4,000 yen, compared with buying the system and the game separately.

Last year, SCE released a similar bundle that included a copy of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue (an extended demo version of the game) and a special "ceramic white" model of the original PS2.
