Ground Zero is Coming
Next week, hundreds of Quake III players will invade New York City.
Ground Zero, the largest professional game competition and convention, is coming to New York, September 9-12. Hosted by the Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL), it will take place at the Puck Building in Manhattan.
150 players - including current CPL Quake champion Dan "RiX" Hammans - will compete for approximately US$25,000 worth of cash and prizes. (about $25,000 worth), The featured game is Quake 3 Arena.
The gameplay will also be broadcast on large-screen TVs around the building, and events like amateur night, product exhibitions, and other contests will be going on as well. General admission is $35 for all four days.
