GameSpot News reported in May that Howard Lincoln would step down from his position of chairman of Nintendo in February of 2000. The Associated Press has found that the exact day of his stepping down will be Feb. 14, his 60th birthday. Lincoln has been chairman of the company since 1983.

The report also mentions current speculation claiming that Lincoln (a current co-owner of the team) may be in line for the chief executive position with the Seattle Mariners. Current Mariners CEO John Ellis, 70, recently hinted at retirement to the Seattle Times.

Also scheduled to step down from Nintendo in 2000 is the company's current president, Hiroshi Yamauchi, 69, who took the reigns of the company in 1949.
