I'm interested as a GT fan but not so sure any more because its been going long but I will reconsider returning to the series if it comes to PS4 with more potential. Aside from that, Drive club  has my attention and I supporting either one. Haven't had a good racer since that intimidating arcade racer on PS3 whatever it was called where there was destroying going on etc and if that were a remake on PS4 with extras then it would be interesting indeed

This is gonna hurt, as I am wanting to hold off on both new systems this year, but damn this is making it hard.

So why did it take them 5+ years to come out with GT5, and they are already coming with the next one? Something just doesn't seem right. I dunno, maybe they were working on the next one before GT5 came out. The time gap just doesn't make sense.

They could have waited another year or so and just released some new cars for GT5, then they could have made GT6 for PS4.

But.. I played the demo of this.....

And have to admit, though I'm sure it will be a great game, It's no Forza. :-/

I just hope the game doesn't get delayed. Remember GT5.

I bought GT4 for PS2 with a lot of excitement (having finished GT3 at 100%). I didn't even played the game.

Then I bought GT5 and GT for PSP and these games are having the same bad luck as GT4. Heck I even bought the G27 wheel some months ago.

Too tired, too much work, too much stress, so little time to play... :(

With Microsoft having Forza Motorsport 5 and Sony have Gran Turismo 6 and DriveClub, this holiday is going to be nothing but racing for me.

You know what would sell me on this. Is the upgrade program. If they told me a PS4 version was coming (which they've basically said) and that I could upgrade to it for a greatly reduced and or free cost though PSN... I'd get it. Other wise I'm content to wait.

How many years did GT5 take? And how many for GT6? I wasn't aware they'd even finished 5 properly yet.

i was going to comment again on how dumb gamers are for buying games like these, but, i'm already burnt out from all the other anti-gamer news.

@tightwad34GT5 was just a stopgap, maybe a "cash-in" as well but i doubt that.

Essentialy GT4 plus some tracks,some "premium cars" and tweaked physics.

Like you said they were probably developing another GT ,but because it would take too long and Forza would be the only new racing game the released GT5 to bring "some" competition, or to at least not lose the fanbase.

 GT6 is probably a proper "GT5" wich has been in developement for a long long time. And that's probably why it will be released on PS3 and not on PS4. It was never ment to be for PS4.

@tightwad34 polyphony digital are perfectionists, I cannot imagine playing another racing game after I played gran turismo 5, it killed and still kills other racing games, for me personally

@Onioki

My sentiment exactly.

 Gran Turismo peaked with GT2. Excellent game, but none of the subsequent games have ever matched it in handling. Forza mopped the floor with GT when it came out.

@Adavanter They aren't going to make a GT6 for PS4. PD doesn't do remakes, it will be a full version GT7 unless Sony force them to even then it will be called something totally different.  I'm scooping this up since I'm not buying anything next gen until summer of next year when first batch is gone and the second is almost expended.   I can wait for the next gen, lots of games coming out for my current systems that I can't convince myself to spend money yet.

@udubdawgz  Are your parents proud of the person you are? Do you have sex on a regular basis (with another person)?  Do you contribute to society in any way?  Do other people even like you? How overweight are you?  Does anybody respect you in any aspect of your life or are you just an all around piece of shit?

@udubdawgz i dont really understand why its dumb to buy the latest racing game when you love racing games? FPS fans buy CoD every year, Football fans buy Fifa every year, and they have minimal changes in reality

@udubdawgz Racing games aren't my cup of tea but I don't see what's so dumb about buying games like this if you do like them.

udubdawgz

@Rafiky77 @udubdawgz

yes, i know fans buy subsequent series games that have minimal changes.

lol.

and, that negates my comment how?

udubdawgz
udubdawgz

@northArrow @udubdawgz

because you can buy forza 5 or gt 4 or whatever.

60 bucks is already overpriced.  buying series games like this is bad for gaming, since, the subsequent releases are NOT significant upgrades.

as you can tell i make my buying decisions based on principle quite often.  whether or not i will like or like a game rarely has anything to do with it.

lol, my comment was a simple one that takes very little reasoning to understand, yet, somehow you completely whiffed and struck out.

@SavageEvil @bambootaboo123 @udubdawgz Come on. Be honest. GT5 was a good game, but it was disappointing by comparison to GT4, and whilst there were lots of improvements from GT4 to GT5, there are lots of things that counterbalance it, such as an awkward shader model, almost non-existant damage physics, and B-Spec Modes inclusion, whilst having an interesting concept, was handled pretty poorly.

DanielL5583

@udubdawgz >60 bucks is already overpriced
Games back in the mid-90s, cartridge games especially, were $80 roundabout. $60, whilst pricey in this economic climate, is still fair.

>buying series games like this is bad for gaming, since, the subsequent releases are NOT significant upgrades
Not to sound like a fanboy, but whilst GT5 was a bit of a step-down from GT4, it still brought a lot to the table, such as track creation, B-spec Mode, and some of my cars and tracks ever. Hehe...Ferrari...!

>whether or not i will like or like a game rarely has anything to do with it
So that's why your comment was a bit backwards-arsed...

SavageEvil

@bambootaboo123 @udubdawgz Hmm, no damage modeling you say...goes to show you haven't played it ever.

GT has a mass appeal because it lets you drive cars you would otherwise never see let alone drive on tracks you only see on television.  If GT5 wasn't a good game how would you explain it selling over 10 million? It's not like it's CoD...step up to FM4 and put FM3 away the undefeatable steering assist is bad enough to make me want to slap Turn 10 for ever including something you cannot disable.

bahamutdragons

@bambootaboo123 @bahamutdragons @udubdawgz I agree, but then I'm not into tuning cars or the realistic aspect.  I don't think it's any less valid than a more arcady experience though, at least as far as gameplay goes.  That being said, all the rest (campaign, presentation) tends to feel really very barren to me compared to other games.  Same with Forza really.

bahamutdragons

@bambootaboo123 @udubdawgz People like cars.  It's the same with Madden VS another football game: the quality of the game matters less than having the NFL license attached to it.

bambootaboo123
bambootaboo123

@udubdawgz I never understand why GT has such mass appeal anyway, GT 5 was not a good game and the fact there is no damage model is just idiotic. I own that game and forza 3, but i play forza a lot more.
