Gran Turismo 6 demo now available

Gran Turismo 6 demo clocks in at 1.1GB and allows players to compete in this year's GT Academy.

The Gran Turismo 6 demo is now available to download on the PlayStation Store, weighing in at approximately 1.1 gigabytes.

The demo takes place on the UK's Silverstone race track, which is new to the series, and lets players drive the Nissan 370Z around five time-trial events--four different chunks of track, and one full lap of Silverstone.

Before entering the time trials, players must progress past a tutorial and four warm-up races in the 370Z and also the Nissan LEAF.

The demo also marks the start of the fifth season of Sony's GT Academy competition, which gives Gran Turismo players the chance to compete in real-life driving events. Players can enter by posting their best Silverstone lap time to the game's leaderboards. This leg of the competition runs until 23:59 BST on July 28, and is open to players across Europe, the US, and Russia.

Any player who clears all five of the time trials with a bronze medal or higher can also unlock an additional Gran Turismo 15th-anniversary event after July 28.

The Gran Turismo 6 demo runs until August 31. The full version of Gran Turismo 6 will be released for the PlayStation 3 later in 2013.

I live in canada and I am not able to down load the demo can anyone tell me why ?

And will the tunning and setting Options be less restrcitive .?

GT5 was hewed  out the window because it had to many restrictions , and it was so tedious to play It was not  even worth playing .   I really hope we have unlimited tuning abilities so that when we change the Settings on the Car , It is unlimited  how  much we can change the settings such as springs Spoiler down force toe angle ect .

I also hope they don't make it as repetitive as GT5 , It was not right that winning one series did not give you enough points to enter the next , that totally sucked @$$  .  What GT5 should of done is just had more series instead of making it repetitive  .. and they made rally racing take a back seat , The B spec thing was totally dumb .

I sure hope GT6 dose not disappoint me FM4 so far is the best Racing sim so GT6 has some big boots to fill . as FM set the bar lets hope GT6 Surpass it

File size 1 GB . You can drive 2 cars on offline and i havent tried the GT academy. After playing i say this feels same like GT5 nothing more. No damage and collisions are funny.

The new menu design is cool and loading fast.Thats all.

Expecting for project cars.

I actually enjoyed it pretty much, driving as compared with GT5 is much more sleek and responsive, yeah responsive that's the right word, also the graphics are improved (obviously), the soundtrack is the same sh*t.

I'm buying the PS4 version on day 1

So I played the GT Academy  thing and I was not impressed at all. I know for sure that this game will not be what many are looking for. However, I feel Polyphony Digital is just throwing another product to make millions on. The game graphics look almost the same and the car sound for the nissan 370z sound horrible. Why would they start you off in a nissan leaf? That makes no sense on making me want to by this game for a crazy $60.00. Maybe Im wrong guys but, Im a big fan and right now I feel a big let down coming on.

Never really been a GT fan but this looks almost photo realistic.... on a PS3. What on earth are they gonna do with a PS4 version... how much further towards simulation can you take a computer game...

Is that pic of the GT-R from the game? It looks like the intro of the first Gran Turismo.

How's the demo? I've been thinking about getting a PS3 sometime in the future, on the cheap of course.

The new physics engine is quite impressive. A huge improvement over GT5. If your a racing fan or even if you drive a car, the difference in handling between GT5 and GT6 seems to be quite apparent. I think I will finally buy a racing wheel, definitely looking forward to this. And about the racing sounds. You can turn the racing sounds up in game from 90(default) to 120, and it sounds a lot better. Definately looking forward to this sheeet.

"1.1 gigabytes" Some people really say that? Write 1.1 GB next time, lol.
I'll download the demo right now.

I loved the old Gran Turismo games, but this series is getting stale. So it took them like 238 yrs to make GT5, but now they can just push GT6 out in a couple years? This sounds like a cash-grab to me. Or this is the game we SHOULD'VE gotten instead of GT5.

@nayce i Know bud, 30  minutes of my life wasted on a nissan Leaf and a 370z. Smh

@scubamonkey123 you should try sim racing games. at least you will learn a lot about cars and their features. some of my friends hate career mode so they just play quick mode and try different cars.

@scubamonkey123 You'll start to have delusions and not know if your actually driving your car or still playing GT7 on your PS4.

It's actually a very serious problem.

@fredyellowone iphone games are 1gb now. Real Racing 3 gives free updates with DLCs every month. Now I downloaded the update which was about 1gb. Plus this is GT6, not GT5.

@Gatts1978 It's a demo.... and its for people that are into racing games / racing in real life and want to play a game that tries to simulate real racing as much as possible.... clearly it's over your head. Stick to mario kart and driving your Honda Civic under the speed limit.

huerito323

@Godsire- What sucks is that Forza is better overall, but it doesn't sell as good as GT. The detail that the guys from Turn 10 put into their Forza games is simply outstanding, from the cars looking beautiful inside and out, and being able to interact with them in autovista(which is now confirmed to be available to all cars), and the engine sound effects. Forza is a car lover's dream.

@snaketus i think you are new about not even racing games; in all games boy.

in 90 s everyone chosed to play in chase cam. and i need to play with my car. not with camera. if you have enough experience about games you will understand what im talkin about. now go and play with sands my child

ahztek666
ahztek666

@NosadaAssasin @Gatts1978 except this game is nothing like real life. The way the "tuned" 370Z bounces and rolls around a track is laughable and is no way realistic. If you think it is even the slightest bit realistic then you are very deluded.

senjutsu

@huerito323 @Godsire- I have both ps3 and xbox 360. Forza came with my xbox 360, I played it for a couple of hours, then sold it for 1$. The girl asked me: "Are you sure? for 1$?", I couldn't care less. Forza is a mix of sim and arcade, with nice tune ups (mods). GT is a real sim racing game, for racing fans. And Forza's looks is really different, it's not feeling realistic at all.

scubamonkey123
scubamonkey123

@snaketus @scubamonkey123 @Virtual_Erkan I've not driven anything like that in real life so couldn't comment. I would hope in real life you could step on the gas without the car immediately spinning out fo control. Argggg the frustration... there goes another controller... who can lend me £50 quid for another one.???

snaketus
snaketus

@scubamonkey123 @Virtual_Erkan It's way more rewarding to play this type of racing game than any arcade shit. Especially if you have proper racing wheel controller like G25. But even with controller Gran Turismo is in it's own class. Car's handle well.. so naturally, like you expect them to handle.

ahztek666
ahztek666

@TorqueHappens08 @ahztek666 @NosadaAssasin @Gatts1978 Not fanboy at all, i used to love GT on PS1 and 2, but they have really lost their way. And no, the handling is not realistic, because when you are sideways in GT and try to correct with even the slightest correction, the game will slingshot you back across the other side of the track. I've been sideways in a car and that does not happen, even when you correct at full steering lock. They need to realise that the majority of people are going to play this game with a controller, not a wheel, so the need to accommodate for this.

TorqueHappens08
TorqueHappens08

@ahztek666 @NosadaAssasin @Gatts1978 Actually, growing up by a race track (VIR) the way the car pitches and rolls in GT6 is very realistic, you are forgetting that the "tuned" 370z just has a fixed sport suspension kit from GT5, (slightly lowers ride height, and slightly stiffs up the shocks,Not that much different from a stock 370z, it does not have a race honed setup,It will not corner flat. and even race cars show some form of body roll when pushed hard enough.

it's more of a weekend sports track day set up. I have seem similarly tuned  z's rolling and lurching just like it, as they are being pushed to they're breaking points. It's also a great sense of the car actually being pushed hard. it conveys the sensation, sense we can't actually feel it, And it does a good job at it.

And the way you worded that has a very fakeboyish/fanboyish vibe.

TorqueHappens08
TorqueHappens08

@huerito323 @GONtheSKYLORD No, forza 4 vs GT5 physics, yes, GT5 was "slightly" better.

But now, there is quite a large gap, these physics are absolutely incredible, i'm putting them up they're near iracing, it is very close now. I'm also an iracing member. for reference.

Handling that beast of a GTR is no joke, so much weight shifting around it's hard just to keep it in check. This is what GT5 should have been.  Exciting, Hard and challenging, you really have to put in some effort to get a good lap.

ahztek666
ahztek666

@GONtheSKYLORD @NosadaAssasin You're dreaming, pal. Forza dethroned GT years ago and still sits atop the throne while GT is quietly polishing its shoes. GT is nothing compared to Forza.

NSeiranians
NSeiranians

@GONtheSKYLORD @NosadaAssasin

I've got both GT5 and Forza 4, GT sure didn't win that one. GT5 is boring, has hardly any car customization, you can't upgrade the car much at all (and even if you do, the horsepower doesn't go up a lot; I mean come on, a fully tuned Supra has 350 horsepower), there's less quality cars, the "quality" cars are boring, and the cars sound like vacuum cleaners. Forza is fun and gives a better racing experience.

huerito323
huerito323

@GONtheSKYLORD Forza is far from generic. It offers a more complete experience than GT, that's for sure. GT has slightly better physics, big fucking deal. They have to do more than that if they want me to buy it. GT3 & 4 are still my favorite.

puukusa
puukusa

@senjutsu yep - exactly my thoughts - mix of arcade and sim, which makes it unique, but there are better options if you are looking for sim or arcade specifically. Still have F:MS3 somewhere

puukusa
puukusa

@huerito323I'm sorry but that is a load of crap... also. I mean - what did you test it with? If it's just your senses - do you have a huge experience of driving 200mph on speed track.

I tested eve online and I can tell flying a spaceship in that game is very unrealistic

huerito323
huerito323

@senjutsu  I'm sorry but that is a load of crap. Forza's physics are very good, and not far behind GT. I've tested both on the wheel and there is only minor differences. The A.I in both Forza 4 and GT5 isn't very good. The damage is better in Forza, and like I said, Forza blows GT5 out of the water in the audio department.

To me, it's all about the total package, and Forza is the clear winner. If you wanna miss out on a complete racing game just because GT5 has slightly better physics, then that's your right.
