Gran Turismo 6 appears for PlayStation 3 in retailer listing

US electronics retailer Newegg.com suggests November release for the next Gran Turismo.

Gran Turismo 6 has been listed for sale by a US retailer

US electronics store Newegg.com had the game listed with a release date of November 28 and a price of $59.99.

The site shows the game on PlayStation 3 as opposed to PlayStation 4. Sony says it is launching the PlayStation 4 globally later this year, and if Newegg's listing proves to be true then it's likely Gran Turismo 6 will be released for PlayStation 3 when its successor is already on shop shelves.

Newegg's listing has now changed to "Out of Stock" and the November release date removed.

The timing coincides with a statement previously given by Sony executive Michael Denny, who said in an interview that Gran Turismo 6 would be released for PlayStation 3 this year.

Back in 2010, Gran Turismo head Kazunori Yamauchi announced that development had started on Gran Turismo 6. The game's predecessor, Gran Turismo 5, took over five years to be released.

Sony declined to comment when approached by GameSpot.

honestly I loved GT5.......until I started playing Forza 4. The ONLY thing GT5 has on forza is the track editor. otherwise, its quite laughable to play. The rally is a joke, and they took no time at all with standard cars, as in they look like they were imported from GT3.  Forza is much more enjoyable and more realistic in my opinion. Compare the sounds, the driving experience in general, Forza 4 wins hands down. Used to be a die hard GT fan but I have given up. My money will be spent elsewhere.

Newegg is getting some good publicity from this.  they should do this more often.

This makes no sense.  Why wouldn't Polyphony just wait for the PS4 and devote all of their energies to a single platform?  More importantly, if they're just adding content for the current generation engine, why not just release a final expansion for GT5?

I'm bearish on this game selling anywhere near expectations.

it takes a while to copy and paste the gran turismo 5 code.  so this will probably be released next year

November 28. Okay Let's recap GT5. How many time has it been delayed? How long has it been delayed until the final release date?

Hopefully this will land on the Playstation 4 too and hopefully Polyphony Digital adds more variety this time around. Standard cars and 80% Japanese cars won't do for me.

Bad move.  Very bad move.  VERY VERY bad move.

Now we will have another crappy GT game for the PS3, while in the meantime, XBOX will get ready Forza series with the next iteration on the next gen Platform.

No ten year wait for a GT game, sweetness. Been playing Forza, but other than the paint job customization and being able to drive around in a Misaka or Index car, the series is a joke as a racing sim.

Must be 'legit'... Lol, this game will probably come out, but New Egg?

More and more PS3 games being released this year...why should I buy PS4 anytime soon?

I hope PD will get out of whatever cave they're hiding in, look at some of the good stuff that other games are doing and try to include that stuff in GT6.

A few examples:
-proper damage model in career
-multiple difficulty settings in career with more credits for higher difficulty
-bonus credits for turning assists off
-more career events & variety
-optional qualifying in all events
-more car variety
-same quality level for all cars (no more premium/standard bs)
-livery editor
-more tracks (at least include all original tracks from previous GT games)
-all cars available to buy at anytime (being lvl 40, having 20 million credits and not being able to buy a car because it won't show up in the UCD is simply ridiculous)

I think it would be smarter to develop it for the PS4 instead of the PS3. JMO though.

I hated GT 5! I waited so long and it was very dissappointing to see long loading times making it unplayable.

"US electronics store Newegg has the game listed with a release date of November 28".

What they didn't say was that it will be in the year 2021

Well this is kinda soon, GT6 is not a surprise at all as the developer said they started working in GT6 when they finished GT5, but I thought it would be a PS4 game.

Every car should be premium and shorten the load times that is all

I really enjoyed GT5.  It had it's flaws though quite obvious.  I hope this will be the GT5 and more that we were all hoping for.  I have no doubt it will be.

I'm surprised they haven't ran out of content to add...i mean i love the series and have always been a fan for the realistic racing and the breath taking graphics but....WHAT MORE can you do with Gran Turismo besides new tracks and cars...WHAT MORE?!

The last Gran Turismo left me feeling so "meh" about the series I'll skip this one. Hopefully when and if they make it to next gen I'll give it a shot. Turismo really needs to get with the times. Just feels so dated.

InquisitorCrox

The physics on 5 were horrible for a next gen game, it more feeled like a polished in graphics alone GT4.

Maybe Sony felt the need to mae up for the PS3 owners ad give them a Forza 4 level racer, this will pave the way for the PS4 as well, because players will appreciate and respect them for that.

As i like racers a lot and i am ready to convert from the 360 to PS4, my main concern is Sony's answer to Forza.

The GT5 regardless of its destination PS3, Ps4 or both, will be a major test of whats ahead for Sony's racing future.

Inevitably thePS4 will get one, it will be better, but how much better?

If the GT 6, is at the same level as it was in 4 and 3 for the same matter, this will show zero develpoment in all those years and so that would mean that the PS4 version, whenever it comes is bound to be as dissapointed as the latest ones...

PcGamingRig

the reason the last one was disappointing is because it took so long to come out that it was outdated and a certain other racing game had advanced.

Well every Playstation has had 2 Gran Turismo titles so it's only fair the PS3 gets the same treatment. LOL

GT5 to GT6 would demand substantial development differences to buy a PS4 alone for such a short time frame which I would've prefered. GT6 still has time for blossoming content for ps3 for classic a swansong collecting too.

Why they need all this advertisement ?. Just release new dashboard  with new set of cars and

racetracks .

I think it should be a PS4 launch title myself but.....I'll take it on the PS3 :)

Well they will probably sell more copies by releasing it on ps3 instead of ps4.

I think they should have saved GT6 for a PS4 launch release game. It would encourage people to buy a PS4

I Own GT5 Acadamy Adition and in all honesty I have hardly played the game, was a huge fan of the GT games but this one seems a little bland and I find it hard to enjoy. Apocolypse is my go too online racing game. I would still love to see both GT and a new Motorstorm for next gen, with the addition of Drive Club it would really make the PS4 driver game firendly.

So GT6 is in development then?  I look forward to playing it in 2018.

i cant possibly see how it would be a true sequel...  they can leave the rubbish parts out of GT5 and polish it up further and then release it as GT5.5.. sadly, i didnt play 5 nearly as much as i played the first 4, particularly GT3

Jerell_rast

@Aiberg On top of that, you have to go all the way out to the main menu just to change you car and then you have to go through all the loading times again.

@EPaul thats a start but we need sume sort of vinyl editor plus if you tune the car i want to see it!! eg weight reduction should show in the cockpit like the seat being removed and so on

pmamba45
pmamba45

@Prime_28 Yeah, if they released it on PS4, with no BC in mind, it would be less counterproductive to current PS3 sales. The wait is probably justified on Ps4 for an awesome come back given development demands.

@Jerell_rast @Aiberg airchaic/ out dated/ un needed challenge game design in general is what has reduced the market for japanese games and the increase in casual gamers.

@InquisitorCrox  well at the very least he was talking about the crash physics which even an arcade game like burnout could do more realistically or at last gave the impression to do so
