Golden Sun: Dark Dawn sets on DS November 29
Camelot-developed handheld role-playing game series ends seven-year hiatus as third installment rises at retail the week after Thanksgiving.
The latest installment in the Golden Sun series has been mostly obscured to date, having been briefly glimpsed at Nintendo's E3 2009 and E3 2010 press conferences. Gamers will soon be getting much more exposure to the Camelot-developed role-playing game franchise, as Nintendo today announced that Golden Sun: Dark Dawn for the DS will launch in stores November 29.
Dark Dawn asks players to save a reborn world from impending catastrophe with the help of Djinn. The Djinn are magical spirits that can be used to call upon the power of gods, whether it's to wipe out enemies or circumvent obstacles and solve puzzles.
The third game in the Golden Sun series, Dark Dawn is set 30 years after the events of the original Game Boy Advance titles in the series. For more on the franchise, check out GameSpot's "glowing" reviews of Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age.
