The Gathering of Developers has signed an agreement with Take 2 Interactive wherein Take 2 will make a substantial non-equity investment in the Gathering. The alliance will see Take 2 distribute the gathering's first ten titles in the US and will see Take 2 copublish and distribute Gathering of Developers' titles in Europe and Australia.

Not only does this alliance answer the question of how g.o.d. titles would actually make it to retailers, it also provides g.o.d. with funding at a critical time in the company's early history.

Wilson, CEO of g.o.d., told E3 News that with Take 2 handling distribution, g.o.d. will concentrate on game development.

Russ Howard, Take 2's VP of business development, said, "We've built this great distribution network, they have great content.... We're both going to help each other grow."

Gathering of Developer partners include 3D Realms, Epic MegaGames, PopTop Software, Ritual Entertainment, Terminal Reality, and Edge of Reality.

"They're playing ball by our rules," Wilson told E3 News Thursday afternoon. He said g.o.d.'s developers, each of whom individually signed off on the deal, "were all very happy." A source told E3 News that the deal was solidified in the early hours of Thursday morning.
