Go for the Gaming Gold at the Winter X-Games

ESPN and Circuit City announce a video game competition that will be held at the 2001 Winter X-Games.

ESPN the Games and Circuit City are teaming up to bring a video game competition to the 2001 Winter X Games in Mt. Snow, Vt. Competitors will go head-to-head in search of the fastest time in the slopestyle event of ESPN X-Games Snowboarding for the PlayStation 2. Local challenges will take place in ten metropolitan areas of the US between January 6 and January 20. One finalist from each city will be chosen to travel to Mt. Snow for the finals, while the second and third place finishers will receive snowboards and other prizes, respectively.

The final competition in Mt. Snow will take place on February 3 and will be televised on ESPN and ESPN2. The top three finishers will take home authentic Winter X-Games gold, silver, and bronze medals. The gold medallist will also compete against a yet-unnamed professional snowboarder and will receive a snowboard.
