GMX Media today announced that it has acquired the European publishing rights to Martin Mystere for the PC. The title, which has been in development at Artematica for more than two years, is a 3D adventure game inspired by Alfredo Castelli's Martin Mystere comic books.

"This is our first title based on a comic book and TV show. Martin Mystere is currently being aired across Europe on notable TV channels, such as Canal Plus in France, and is proving very popular with viewers. UK airing is currently being discussed with a number of TV channels," said COO for GMX Media Eugene Perry. "After two months of biweekly airing on Canadian YTV, Martin Mystere is now the number one rated domestic series on Canadian TV--beaten out only by a few American series such as Fairly Odd Parents and Sponge Bob--and broadcast in typically high ratings slots. The title promises to be one of the best adventure games of the year."

Details on the game's plot are scarce at present, save for the fact that a professor named Eulemberg, who was working on a machine capable of changing the destiny of the world, has been murdered. We'll bring you more information on the game, which is currently scheduled for release in August, as soon as it becomes available.
