Ghostbusters content is coming to free-to-play Family Guy mobile game The Quest for Stuff. Developer TinyCo. has announced that in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Ghostbusters series and the coming of Halloween, the company has rolled out a new in-game special event.

Here's how the story goes. When Griffin patriarch Peter accidentally opens a dark portal inside the Quahog cemetery, he unleashes hosts of ghosts and goblins that descend on the city. When Quahog residents wonder, "Who you gonna call?" this is where the player comes in.

In addition to questlines involving ghost-busting, the Quest for Stuff event adds a new crafting interface to the game. When you kill ghosts in Quahog, you'll be rewarded with "soul points" and other crafting materials, which you can combine in a "spooky crafting cauldron" to make new characters and buildings.

The Ghostbusters-themed event in The Quest for Stuff runs October 2 through November 5.

The introduction of the Ghostbusters content is the latest example of TinyCo. introducing big-name celebrities and franchises to the mobile game. Over the summer, the developer added a series of new characters to the game, including Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston, Star Trek's Patrick Stewart, and Spider-Man creator Stan Lee, among others.

The Quest for Stuff launched last March for iOS and Android. For more on the game, be sure to read GameSpot's extensive interview with TinyCo. business head Andrew Green.

Last month, TinyCo. was fined $300,000 for violating the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. However, the settlement only concerned TinyCo. games released before 2012, thus not including The Quest for Stuff.
