Ghost Recon: Wildlands Open Beta Confirmed, Coming Soon
Everyone will be able to try out Ubisoft's upcoming shooter in the coming weeks.
Ubisoft recently let some players try Ghost Recon: Wildlands with a closed beta that ran earlier this month. If you didn't get into that beta, there is good news today, as Ubisoft confirmed during an earnings call that an open beta will be available sometime in the coming weeks before launch.
An open beta for Wildlands is no big surprise, as Ubisoft said during the last earnings call in November that this was on the way. However, it wasn't clear until today when this beta would be held.
We still don't know specifics about when it will arrive or what content it will include, but it will take place before Wildlands launches on March 7 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
Wildlands contains the largest open world that Ubisoft has ever made--you can see the game's massive map here.
In other news, Ubisoft has announced a live-action short film set in the game's universe. Called War Within the Cartel, the movie was produced by Roberto Orci, who wrote the screenplays for Star Trek and The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The movie stars rapper and actor TI.
