Get Your Latest Free Mythical Pokemon Right Now

Pokemon's 20th anniversary celebration continues today with the release of yet another free Mythical Pokemon for the most recent 3DS games.

For July, you'll get grass-type Shaymin, which I admittedly did not know was a Pokemon until now and looks to me like the child of Sonic and a fern.

The one you'll receive is level 100, comes equipped with the Natural Cure ability, and has the moves Seed Flare, Aromatherapy, Substitute, and Energy Ball. It'll come in Land Forme, but you'll be able to pick up a Gracidea flower on Route 123 (in Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire) to transform it into Sky Forme.

You can claim your Shaymin in Pokemon X/Y and Alpha Sapphire/Omega Ruby from now until July 24. Unlike some of the previous freebies, this one can be claimed right from the game itself. Just go to the Receive Gift option in the main menu, choose to receive it through the internet, and your Pokemon will be waiting at any Pokemon center in-game. There are still five more free Mythical Pokemon to be obtained later this year, including Arceus in August and Victini in September.
