Get MLB 14 The Show and NBA 2K14 together for $90 on PS3

Sony announces PlayStation Sports Pack Vol. 1, launching April 1; also comes with $10 worth of in-game currency.

by

Sony today announced the PlayStation Sports Pack Vol. 1, an upcoming PlayStation 3 bundle that will include copies of MLB 14 The Show and NBA 2K14 together for $90. The bundle launches April 1 and is announced only for the PS3.

The PlayStation Sports Pack Vol. 1 also includes $10 worth of in-game currency for both games. You'll get 6000 STUBS for MLB 14: The Show and 20,000 virtual currency for NBA 2K14.

Purchased separately, you'd have to spend $130 for the games and the virtual currency, Sony reminds us.

MLB 14: The Show launches April 1 for PS3 and PlayStation Vita, while the PlayStation 4 version is due to arrive May 7. As for NBA 2K14, that game has been available since October 2013.

So so deal… and anyone interested in NBA 2K14 already has it.  Was kinda hoping for a cross buy deal like last year with the Vita version of MLB 14 for whoever buys the PS4 or PS3 version.  How about $75 bucks for a PS4 and Vita bundle of both games of MLB 14?

What's this in-game currency? Pay full price for a game and then pay some more to actually play it?

Sheesh, consumers really should wake up and boycott the shizzle out of it

This is just dumb. It's not even a deal. I could by 2K14 by itself for $20-30. Who in their right mind is excited about getting two games for the price of two?

I wonder why Madden will never be featured in a pack like this. Is it cuz EA?

What an amazing deal. The best two sport games available in one pack. Should be at least $10/$20 cheaper tho...but altogether, an amazing deal for sports fans who enjoy baseball and basketball.

Isn't it a little to early for April Fool's jokes? Neither company would ever package their game with another publisher's game.

That's a bad deal. Yes, MLB 14 The Show will be 59.99 when it comes out, but the last-gen versions of NBA 2K14 have been on sale for months. It would be worth it to pay $59.99 for both packaged together but paying $90 for this doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the consumer.

Purchased them in discounted bin next year , you'd have to spend $10  for the games without stupid  virtual currency, I reminds Sony.

I say charge 60 for both, but cut out some teams and make them DLC later for a 30. People will deffinitely fall for it.

@ete-san  Yeah welcome to todays sports games.  Now in career modes you need to 'earn' points or currency to improve your players stats/attributes.  So now they've figured out how to exploit the lazy gamer who just buys in game currency with actual money to get his attributes maxed out quickly.  NBA 2K14 is a good example of where many impatient gamers do this.  Not sure how the MLB 14 game will use this currency though.  Just another way to exploit gamers.  All this stuff should be IN THE GAME and not have to be bought.  EA puts out Golf games and holds back courses that you have to buy through DLC.  Played a version of Tiger PGA like 2 years ago and was in a PGA career… got to the second Tournament on the schedule and the game said I couldn't enter this Tourney and would forfeit this Tourney because I DIDN'T OWN THE COURSE!!!  It wasn't in the game! lol.  I would have to purchase the course for $7 to play that Tourney. FUCK YOU EA!!!

@lilj2626  Instead of worrying about the price of games, do yourself a favor and save your money for an English tutor.
