Get GTA games for cheap during Rockstar Publisher Weekend Steam sale

Get all the Max Payne games for under $10 and other great deals.

Steam is currently holding a Rockstar Publisher Weekend sale, offering great deals on many games by the developer and publisher.

The Grand Theft Auto Complete Pack is currently discounted by 80 percent, down to $10. It includes Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto IV, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

Another great deal is the Max Payne Complete pack for $10, which is 82 percent off its normal asking price. It includes all three Max Payne games and the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass. If you already own the two first games in the series, you can also buy the Max Payne 3 Complete pack, which includes the game and its DLC for $7.

L.A. Noire, Bully, Midnight Club 2, and Manhunt are also deeply discounted. All deals will end on Monday, March 17 at 10AM Pacific Time.

Last week, Rockstar Games received the British Academy of Film and Television Arts Fellowship, honoring its work on many of the games mentioned above.

Was gonna buy Max Payne, but already have five games on the go atm.

I rarely buy digital games, but all 5 GTA games (first two have been free on Rockstar's website) for 10$? I'll take it.

I also got LA Noire (already got 100% on PS3 but sold it) because I love that game so muc and wanted to show support (hopefully a new sequel in the future?), and I may play it in the future when I want to relive such an amazing experience.

Didn't get MP deal. Deal's not so great, and 1st two are not that great anymore gameplay-wise and MP3 not so great story-wise.

Best thing about the old GTA games from the PS2 days is you'll be getting the complete full games.

unlike GTA 5, where they still haven't put out heist yet and they just nerf pay outs in a cheap attempt to force those cash cards on you.

Dammit Cockstar....why did you have to go and become greedy?

I've never understood retro gamers. Most people have played these games two generations back, I can understand nostalgia but it's akin to me packing up my blue ray capable ps4 and buying a VHS (or worse, beta max) player just because at one point a VHS player meant the world to me.......it lasts as long as it takes to surpass that technology. When that tech moved forward, so do I.

Not taking it away from those that do enjoy it, I just don't understand it myself.

Amazing. Except I only get to see Midnight Club 2 because all others are region locked.

I know this is slightly off topic but how do you install mods for San Andreas? I've heard that the Steam version doesn't support mods easily.

I just want Max Payne 1 and 2.

Max Payne 3 was a generic 3rd person shooter with absolutely no depth that ruined the series.

Buy GTA4 to only have it unplayable on June 1st. Classy Rockstar...

GTA V for PC please.

Still got them all, GTA 3 looks like a turd that was eaten and recrapped when played on the ps3 but hey I don't have to pay $10 if I want to play them.

No thanks. We rather beg for GTA V instead of this crap.

I spent a whole lot of hours trying to get Max Payne 3 to run through Steam but no luck.  On the Steam forum there are many others who had similar problems.  I purchased it for I think $5 or $10 on sale several months ago but the real price was the wasted time in trying all of the different suggested fixes.

How long before Rockstar truly become a victim of their own success? Kind of how BioWare have to some extent; and most certainly how Blizzard have.

No thanks Rockstar, you'd just betray us PC gamers again next time you release a game... I don't see how you deserve our money.

I'm currently brushing up on my German thanks to the language packs included in The Witcher 1 and then there are other games, so I won't buy anything now, but these are some great deals. I especially like that there are several different bundles, e.g. one for all three Max Payne games, but if you didn't like Max Payne 3 you can get the first two in another discounted bundle.

@mikees1 Some games like Castlevania: Symphony of The Night, Devil May Cry 3, The Legend of Zelda series, and so on just never get old. No matter how old games such as these get, they never feel dated, always fun, and many times still feel superior to modern games released today. It's not just for nostalgia's stake that people play old games, it's that certain games are so incredibly good, that they never seem to age, and are always great experiences to go back to, even today.

@mikees1

i like being able to play old games, especially when new consoles come out and nothing good is going to be out for atleast a half a year to a year.

Barighm

@mikees1 A great old movie is still a great movie, much like a great old game is (usually) still a great game.

terrariafan247
terrariafan247

I'm not a retro gamer but I do often play older games like Morrowind and San Andreas. I play them because they are classics regardless of the technological advances of future games. Also there wasn't much DLC so when you bought a game you got the 'full' experience.

This is an article about Rockstar games on Steam being cheap. Where is this talk about using VHS over Blu ray coming from?

@terrariafan247

Steam version of San Andreas is v3.0 and the only ones that are moddable and v1.0 and v1.1; the later removes the "Hot coffee" but you get better framerates with anti-aliasing applied and more resolutions.

I think all I did was rename GTA-SA.exe to GTA-SA_old.exe and then download a No-CD exe of v1.1 from GameCopyWorld; and rename that from GTA_SA.exe to GTA-SA.exe.

Now you should be able to install mods :)

@terrariafan247  I believe there's some kind of mod manager so it'll be easier to install mods but I forgot where you can get it

@jZangetsu21 There is a Max Payne 1 and 2 bundle that costs about $3-4. But If you have newer versions of windows like windows 8 or 7, than I recommend not getting it. A lot of problems. Game doesn't start, or if it does work, there's no sound etc etc.

Bought it the other day, found out it doesn't work.

torrne667
torrne667

@jZangetsu21  behave yourself.... max payne 3 was a graphical master piece that had great physics and was totally action packed....similar to what the series was famous for in the previous 2 games. It ruined nothing

billlabowski

@HesamB  Unfortunately it's an option, a viable option since they have no desire to take off GFWL. Their stance on PC is pretty clear. I'm sure GTA V will be out in June for PC. Personally I thought it was mediocre but I'll still buy it for the community mods.

notfrylock1987
notfrylock1987

@bragart

As much as I want it on PC.....You'll have a better shot at seeing GTA 5 on PC before RDR....which sucks, because RDR was a million times better then GTA 5.

billlabowski
billlabowski

@bragart  Doubtful. The reason behind no RDR for PC, PS4, or Xbox One is that the developers have stated the games code is a jumbled mess. They said it would take 8 months for a team of programmers to fix all the coding mess. Why is it so bad? Not sure, I guess optimizing their game code wasn't on the list of priorities. I'd like to see it on PC, but I've already played over a hundred hours of it on Xbox and PS3. I'm looking forward to seeing what else Rockstar San Diego has in store for us, and hopefully they bring it over to PC. If not, well, that's why I own at least one console.

terrariafan247
terrariafan247

Still going on about it? Just get a 12gb Xbox cheap if you want to play it so badly.

mikees1
mikees1

Oh get over yourselves already. GTA is and always has been a console game first. It makes me laugh how PC gamers deride console gamers for inferior graphics, speed ect, but guess whose been playing GTA V since October.......not you lot rofl.

@ECH71  Rockstar social club is the best place ever!!! They love us! :D

No... it's just DRM ;'(

@Barighm @mikees1 i skipped gta iv, for several reasons. just installed it today and saints row iv yesterday. gta iv is an aliased mess, even on max settings, but it's been fun so far. SRIV looks and drives better, but i'm enjoying them both equally.

some of us have huge backlogs and don't play every game that comes out, so these sales encourage us to go back and play what we missed.

mikees1

It was a comparison, the only one I could could compare to stepping backwards and playing old games over brand new ones.

If you're reffering to SAMI. That doesn't work for me.

Thanks for letting me know ^^

@torrne667 @jZangetsu21  Graphics don't make a game good.

Besides, I'm entitled to my own opinion and preference. If you liked the game, it's fine, I'm not gonna try to change your mind.

amv12

@torrne667 @Ripper_TV  I think they're referring to the end of GFWL perhaps; but theres plenty of ways around that and they'll probably be an official workaround soon. Most GFWL games now have Steamworks support instead, so this will probably get the same treatment.

@terrariafan247  I've got one on my xbox 360 but still want to play it on my PC. I don't know why..maybe I want to have more mods.

@mikees1  Eh... I never cried about GTAs, I dislike all GTAs ever since I was a kid.

We were just talking about Rockstar in general, and their "Social Club".

Understood, chap?

notfrylock1987
notfrylock1987

@amv12 @torrne667 @Ripper_TV  I'm pretty sure steam will put out a patch update that fixes that....I mean, if Steam was going to sell you games, that wouldn't be playable after GFWL goes away, they would be opening themselves up to so many lawsuits from gamers.
