Gamers were taken aback at Microsoft's pre-E3 conference when the program started off with an intense demo of Epic Games' Gears of War for the Xbox 360. That was the final step of a long project set forth by the developer, and now people will get a chance to see what it took to get there. MTV2 will air Gears of War: The Race to E3 tomorrow at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The special shows behind-the-scenes looks at the Epic team as they decide what stays in and what gets cut from the demo as the looming deadline hangs over them. Viewers will also get an inside look at some personal drama lead designer Cliff Bleszinski faces, as well as a peek at Mr. Microsoft himself, Bill Gates.
MS should just spend the money and buy MTV. Then they could MSMTV, and it could be 24 hours a day of crappy music videos, angsty emos, pimp my [whatever], and adverts/shows about Vista, and 360. Who knows it might be more interesting than what they have now. Any way MTV and 360/Vista is a perfect fit.
I didn't like how Cliffy hesitated when Bill Gates asked him if the game would be ready for the fall. He ultimately said "yes", but that pause of hesitation worries me a lil bit that it could get pushed back into next year. I'm really looking forward to this game.... this is one of the titles that sold me a 360. I'm excited about this game because I already know the guys at Epic Games are a talented bunch.
well I have allways been able to tell if I would like a movie by the previews and I can do the same with game trailers that is if it shows real game play I cant wait for gears of war and halo is very good but not the only game
I saw it last night it was alright(ZZZZZZZZZZZZ) until they showed the game!!! This game is going to rock!!!!( I already preordered mine)
Dont worry guys, it was it was pretty Lame. Cliffy comes off like a pretentious A-hole and all they talk about the ENTIRE half hour is the chainsaw. If gears of war turns out to be some decent looking FPS, but with a chainsaw, im gonna be kind of ticked off. Everyone that was at E3 and talked about this game, praised it the whole time so i suppose i have some faith. But seriously, the Mtv2 show was just another gear (wink wink) in the machine that is Microsoft guerilla warfare advertising campaign. PS. ehem....DOOM?!?!? CHAINSAW?!?! ANYONE?!?! I wanna see the BFG in Gears Cliffy...
^^^ I played it at E3. It is as amazing as everyone is hyping it to be. And it's not even done yet. Eat it.
I don't get the deal with Gears of War. It looks like it might be an interesting game, but what is up with all these people talking about how amazing it is before they have even played it? It is a game. How can you decide it is wonderful before playing it? That is like loving a book you never read, or a movie you've never seen.
Also Gear of War really does not look to all that AMAZING like the said it would be the next "Halo" for the 360.
MTV only plays music between about midnite to 800 in the morning when NO IS WATCHING except those of us coming home from a late night at work or out partying.
They won't give you a demo right now because there's framerate issues that need to be worked out. And yes I agree, MTV1 is no longer music, then they created MTV2, and it had music for a couple years (albeit I didn't care). Now its just 48 hours of programming of crap between the two channels instead of 24. It's a good thing we have video games and movies...because reality tv is taking over the world...and that my friends is a horrible horrible thing.
I posted a few videos from the upcoming show on our team's blog. Worth checking out. John P. www.gamerscoreblog.com
I want the game not an preview show on MTV. Spend more money on makeing the game than spending it on MTV.
Only watching it cuz it satisfies a lil bit of this hunger i have for GoW. After that it's back to NBA playoffs or anything to turn the channel from MTV This is Yo mama. (Sarcastically speaking)
As much as I hate MTV I guess I have no choice. G4 doesn't have video game content anymore, MTV doesn't have music stuff anymore. What's going on here?
Nedemis, they are going to show the conclusion on MTV2. Marketplace doesn't have that. I already set the reminder on my cable box.
MTV 2 tends to be a little less trendy than MTV. New material at least. Hopefully this won't be a complete disgrace to the game.
