In a post on the Gears of War Facebook page, Microsoft explained that it's extending availability for the Onyx/Gold Swarm pack until Thursday morning Pacific time. Additionally, the Season Pass owners can play the Developer Playlist--featuring new maps and XP bonuses--until the same time.

"Credit and Progression rewards that were queued up from this weekend will be worked on and awarded out hopefully this week. We are actively working on this now," Microsoft said.

As for the Double XP weekend event, it runs this coming Friday, January 20, though Sunday, January 22.

Server downtime is never fun. But it is nice to see Microsoft taking this step to try to make up for it.

Gears of War 4 multiplayer added new maps, Blood Drive and Clocktower, last week for Season Pass owners. The update that added the free maps also introduced 280 Series 2 cards. You can read more about Gears of War 4's latest DLC here.
