Gear VR Discounted to $60, But You Need to Act Quickly

The Samsung Gear VR headset is currently on sale from Amazon for only $60. This is a 40 percent reduction from the virtual reality device's normal $100 price point.

The Gear VR device launched in November 2015, following the release of an "innovator" edition for developers. It's made by technology giant Samsung in partnership with Oculus. The Oculus Rift device, which uses a computer, launched in March, priced at $600.

Gear VR requires a newer-model Samsung Galaxy phone to work; the phone slots into the headset to serve as its display and processor.
