Gangnam Style, Call Me Maybe coming to Dance Central 3

Popular songs from Psy and Carly Rae Jepsen, as well as Justin Bieber, One Direction, and LMFAO to be available as DLC for Harmonix's latest rhythm game.

by

Dance Central 3 will add Psy's incessantly popular "Gangnam Style" and Carly Rae Jepsen's chart-topping hit "Call Me Maybe" as downloadable content, Harmonix has confirmed to Joystiq.

The two songs, as well as tunes from Justin Bieber, One Direction, and LMFAO will also be available for the dancing game sometime down the road. No prices were announced for the songs, but Harmonix said the tracks will include "authentic choreography."

"Gangnam Style" debuted on YouTube in July and has amassed over 500 million views, becoming the site's third most-viewed video in history. The song currently sits in the number two position on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.

Just last week, Ubisoft announced that "Gangnam Style" would appear in its own dancing game, Just Dance 4.

Dance Central 3 launched last week to a warm critical reception. GameSpot's review praised its dance routines, noting that they appeal to beginners and experts alike. Additionally, Dance Central 3's new Party Time mode and decade-spanning soundtrack helped it earn critical plaudits.

This has got to be the most ridiculous song and dance ever.  I rather listen to Country.

I think I've heard "Gangnam Style" and "Call Me Maybe" at every bar that I've ever been to.

Gangnam Style. How anyone can listen to this more than once is beyond me, let alone actually enjoy it. I guess it's a reflection of the sorry state the pop music industry is in.

It's either wanna be gangsta's with their shallow debauched music glorifying promiscuous sex, money & exotic cars, or nonsensical rubbish like Gangnam Style.

No wonder people lack dignity these days...

wow just wow....how could a Korean song that no one really knows what's he singing get this famous?and even i that just listen to instrumental music or Metal watched it and it was pretty amusing.( no i didn't stand up and started doing that dance and stuff after it! ) my most legit explanation is who cares about song when you got style??

Relax, everyone. People will listen to whatever music they choose. You can like or dislike any music, as that's absolutely your right, but don't think for a second that your opinion means more than someone else's.

Now excuse me while I put on my headphones... :)

Gangnam style is fun, but PSY's weirdly enough to other great tracks too. Like an Asian Beastie Boy...

Aww yeah, Gangnam style.  Go Psy!

If they had Grimes or Purity Ring or something I might buy one of these games... one day. Though they'll never have good new music.

I'm surprised Just Dance didn't try to get it first.

Who cares if you think today's music is crap??? This artcile doesn't even have anything to do with that. Even if it did, YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT OPINIONS. Someone will always disagree with an opinion you have. Unless it's fact, you won't get anywhere.

So stop complaining so much and just learn to accept what you believe may be the world's flaws and move on. You'll have less to regret this way when you reflect back on your life years from now.

I understand dancing "Gangam Style", but what about "Call Me, Maybe"? Do players pretend to be washing an invisible car?

I wouldn't judge today's music based off things heard on radio or on TV. There are many good songs out there, you just have to look for them. I do not like all that is playing mainstream right now, but fortunately and I am starting to get into making my own music (instrumentals mostly). Some mainstream songs are fun, though.

Psy, Carly Rae Jepsen, Justin Bieber, One Direction, LMFAO... I wonder what all of these 'artists' have in common? Oh yeah, they're all talentless hacks, demons set loose on this Earth to lower the standard. We'd be better off to pretend that they don't even exist, maybe then they'll go die in a ditch somewhere along with every other mediocre trend that ever took off over the last 30 years.

For the weak of mind this music is.

50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s--Those are the decades to listen to. That's forty years worth of content. If you can't find something that appeals to you from that, then you can't be helped.

"Music" today is shit, plain and simple.

They should make that the theme song for the next Gundam TV anime episodes. :P

Is anyone besides me completely mystified as to how "Call Me Maybe" ever became so popular?

This is why I mostly listen to OSTs. Even the most obscure of music can become mainstream overplayed crap. Plus they're usually better anyways.

I swear to Miyamoto, if i have to hear Call Me Maybe ONE MORE TIME, I might have have a complete and odd psychotic break in the middle of a Starbucks, pouring iced coffee down my shirt until the men in the white coats give me my happy needle and I go back to Fairyland, where all my dreams come true.

Gangnam Style is fun though, but I'll eventually get sick of it. But now, if you excuse me, I'm going to go listen to some classic rock while wondering where mainsteam music started to suck.

Girl: "Hey, I just met you, and this is crazy, but here's my number. Call me, maybe?"

Psy dials the number on his cell-phone as he gallops away...

Girl: "Hello?"

Psy: "HEEEEEEEEEEEEY, sexy lady!"

@SirApathetic005 Its ironic how it works, it seems every generation becomes intolerant to the newer generation's music. I can't count how many times my parent's and my uncles told me my music sucks, and that was some 20 years ago. The cycle repeats again today with us and the new generation.

SirApathetic005

@yearssomuch I like how you think people should die just because you disagree with them and what they do as a career. They're just singing like any other musician or artist would. But I guess they should die anyway right? That's not even a bit extreme in the least, yes? -_-

@Kravyn81 I get sick of hearing that. Music today isn't 'shit', it's what gets played on the mainstream that is complete and utter garbage. There is PLENTY of good music out there from very recent generations, you just don't hear it on the radio, or on your television. You just have to look for it, and find what suits you.Although, if 'what suits you' is dubstep and mediocre pop tracks, then you're not a fan of real, true music. No amount of rationalization in your own mind will ever change that.

yearssomuch
yearssomuch

@Dr_Corndog Do you have some mundane, teeny-bopper lyrics and a catchy beat, maybe a little bit of influence from record labels? That's all the masses need. Also, there are literally millions upon millions of people who won't give anything a chance unless a higher figure tells them to like it, or that it's cool.. this metaphorical 'higher figure' being music networks and radio stations.

@AngelCage-2 You don't have a problem with Psy or Carly Rae Jepsen, but you have issues with Justin Bieber? They're all demons set loose on Earth to lower the standard, get your priorities straight.

@DeadrisingX1 fucking mainstream music is ruined. I don't even listen to this new school crap anymore. I just stick to my stuff from early 2000's and everying from 70's/80's and 90's

@HAZCHEM88 And you're one of the best examples of respectable human beings.

If something sounds horrible to you, that doesn't mean it is, and that doesn't you better than others, or make anyone less than you just because they disagree or have a different view on it.

AngelCage-2
AngelCage-2

@dom28  @DeadrisingX1 I think that the most "new" song that i have on my phone, computer or on my car is something from late 90's

All the music since then is just CRAP, that's why i don't listen to the radio anymore.

HAZCHEM88
HAZCHEM88

@SirApathetic005 Believe me, I hear what you're saying, and I've had plenty of real-life conversations about the dismal state of today's music industry. I just would rather talk then type......

SirApathetic005
SirApathetic005

@HAZCHEM88 I don't like a lot of today's music. But my point is to you is that you are more close-minded and likely to have less respectable and intelligent conversations with people on topics like this since you just disregard anything that you don't agree with and just bash it with why you don't like it with insults and such.

I don't like the way people sag their pants and, if I ever wanted to make a difference in the way they dress, I can't go about it by saying, "You look f***ing dumb if you dress that way. So don't do it no more, 'kay?" I have to do it respectably and in a manner that I can be taken seriously: "Sir, I don't know about you, but I don't like to reveal my behind to the public. If you do, that's fine, but I sure do hope that the message your giving is not what you think; did you know it started in jail with inmates?...do you know what it means?"

That's the point I was mainly making. I don't like most of today's music, but I do like some of it. However, I wouldn't want that to get in the way of my conversations with people, because that in itself is as stupid as some music might be today.

HAZCHEM88

@SirApathetic005 Enjoy your bland, soul-less, cheap, mainstream music. Millions of artists out there better than these stains.

@cfstar  @AngelCage-2  @dom28  @DeadrisingX1 Exactly. If you say music is 'dead' because there's nothing good on the RADIO (Hahahaha.. because if there was EVER a solid source for quality music, it was the radio, amirite gaiz?), then you need to open your eyes and try liking something for yourself, without MTV or VH1 telling you to like it first. I mean, seriously, 'All the music since then is just CRAP'? What a close-minded statement.. some of my favorite bands and albums come from 2000 and onward.
