The tech elves will perform some necessary maintenance tomorrow morning from 8am until 10am. While you should be able to browse the website normally, you won't be able to post community content (forums, blogs, Fuse, reviews and so on). Fuse will require even further maintenance up to 24 hours. If you find yourself with excess energy over the downtime, you might want to consider finishing the games you've been meaning to complete. You can also keep in touch with the latest on Twitter, Facebook, or Google+.
wait...playing the actual games we spend most of our time discussing...how dar--
...actually that's a good idea
All of my blogs have vanished too, and so have all of my friends' blogs! And almost all of my forum posts have vanished as well! GS, please fix it! :(
so wats the point of doing this? Is it to fix glitches or something. Please do fix the glitches!!! also I lost 200 from my post count...
in the past days (a week or two), on the front page, I can't see all the news, I can only see the "editors picks". When I click on "all", it only shows the news from 18-20 hours ago and oldests but not the latest ones. So, if I want to see all the news I have to wait until the next day to click on all and see them. Before the mentioned period it was working fine.(This article, for instance, I could only see now because yesterday it was not showing since this was not selected in the "editors picks").
All of my blogs have disappeared, and my "About Me" page says I have zero blogs. I cannot open my inbox either.
Finishing games is exactly what I will be doing while the maintenance is going on. :P I need a day devoted to games anyway lol, posting here has kept me from playing more games and living my life. ;)
Well. Good. Dare I ask how long over schedule we will be unable to post? *crossing fingers and hoping*
Thank you for update and I will be finishing games I haven't had the time so see all you peeps later! :)
Let us pray that maintenance actually correct any glitches found in the site, as no where in my 15+ years of Internet use have I see a web site that is plagued with major glitches. In fact, people dismissively call GameSpot "Glitchspot" because of that.
@nutcrackr no. :D
@angeldeb82 This should now be resolved.
lol - tell me about it - I've gone from thousands to mere hundreds.
@Uesugi-dono It should be back to normal now. I believe we might still encounter hiccups but for the most part it looks to be stable.
@Uesugi-dono It was just starting when you posted. GS is based in CA, which is in the PST time zone. It's from 10am-12pm central time
Yes, we know about the "nickname".;) I can only imagine how difficult it must be to patch the coding, as there's so much new over the old.
Intermittent disappearances and link errors are still happening on occasion.
@jediknight52501 You can use their boards by searching the forums, each union has their board availible with the new[er] layout and are a good replacement (also easier to access if you put them in your favorites).
@jediknight52501 I know it's very frustrating, but as long as they fix it soon and all the problems are gone for good, that's all that matters.
