GameSpot GamePlay Episode 18: The Cinnabon Engine

Crytek's Mike Read starts his engine and 5th Cell's Jeremiah Slaczka rejects all limitations. Also on hand: Kevin VanOrd, Carolyn Petit, and more!

GameSpot GamePlay Episode 18: The Cinnabon Engine

Mike Read from Crytek (Crysis 3) joins the GameSpot crew to talk graphics engines and tasty treats. And since we can't get enough of him, Jeremiah Slaczka from 5th Cell (Scribblenauts Unlimited) appears for a segment all about Easter eggs--but not the kind you color. Host Kevin VanOrd and fellow GameSpotters Tom Mc Shea, Carolyn Petit, Tyler Winegarner, and (for a little while) Chris Watters are on hand to direct the action.

Oh, and we also talk about Halo 4. So there's that.

Love Kingdom Hearts

in what way did medal of honor portray guns as toys??  I can just picture tom imagining a soldier on the grown using a M16A1 as a fire truck and saying "beep beep" in no way do they portray guns as toys tom, do they portray war as an exciting experience? maybe. but in no way are they encouraging people to be irresponsible with firearms.

Poor tom, the man doesn't realize that guns don't kill or injure people. I bet he also blames spoons for making people fat.

It's okay Kevin I like Kingdom Hearts also. I thought I heard Caro roll her eyes at the girlfriend comment and shame on you guys for calling Chris Watters and Shaun McInnis lame!!

I may be part of a minority....but I don't think RE6 is that bad...

It's an OK game that carries the name of a once great franchise. If it was yet another generic zombie killing game or even a new IP maybe it would look less bad. Again, I'm not saying it is an underrated masterpiece but it is not as bad as you make it looks.

Other than that, another great show!! Some misguided rage towards Kingdom Hearts and a very nice Scribblenauts part but great show in general!

What's with all the Kingdom Hearts hate from everyone but Kevin?  I loved that game, and I didn't even pick it up and play it until about three years ago.  I'd honestly like to hear why everyone else thought it was so bad.

okay, with Cinnabon in the title I was expecting something else completely...I can't help but feel cheated here...at least post a pic of a Cinnabon!  especially for those of us who perpetually diet!

@pokecharm Sweet food is disgusting.   Savory is the way to go.  i would choose Steak over a nasty pastry any day.

Must be... I mean, sure, the combat was kinda shallow, but it got an 85 metacritic rating, so clearly it did something right.  And if someone like me can play it for the first time five years after it was originally released, that speaks very very well for it.  A lot of game are irrelevant five years after release.  Kingdom Hearts holds up from where I'm standing.

Keep up the great podcasts, I'm still lovin' em.
