GameSpot announces Second Annual Mobies Finalists

GameSpot reveals the finalists for the Second Annual Wireless Gaming Awards; winners to be announced at the upcoming CTIA conference.

GameSpot today revealed the finalists for its Second Annual Wireless Gaming Awards, affectionately called the "Mobies." The finalists were spread over eight categories, including the coveted mobile Game of the Year award. The winning games will be announced on March 15, at the CTIA conference in New Orleans.

CTIA's vice president of operations, Robert Mesirow, enthusiastically endorsed the Mobies in a statement today, and congratulated the finalists. Mesirow neatly summarized the purpose of an awards show, saying that "The Mobies will recognize the most outstanding achievements in this content arena."

The Mobies finalists were chosen from more than 100 submissions, and were judged on specific criteria, including (but not limited to) aesthetic value, gameplay quality, and replayability. The finalists in each category are also finalists for the Game of the Year award, and are as follows:
