Gamer Commander MX Ships

Mindmaker readies its voice command software.

Comments

Mindmaker announced Wednesday that it is shipping Game Commander MX, a program that lets the player use voice commands in games through the use of a microphone.

Game Commander MX will also operate in conjunction with other voice chat software, like Roger Wilco and BattleCom, so the player doesn't have to sacrifice the functionality of one program for the other. Now both can be used simultaneously.

"The standard version of Game Commander has been very popular with both critics and consumers, but does not allow users to use voice chat while using Game Commander," said Vicky Marlow, director of sales and marketing for Mindmaker. "The ability to run Game Commander MX along with voice chat programs gives gamers the best of both worlds. Now they don't have to sacrifice communication with their fellow players to reap the advantages of voice control."

Game Commander MX will be available for purchase online for US$39.95, though previous users can purchase the upgrade for $5 before December 31 (and $10 after that).
