Game of Thrones' Charles Dance to lend voice in Witcher 3

Actor to play the role of Emperor Emhyr Var Emreis, ruler of Nilfgaard.

by

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be getting some star power in the form of British actor and screenwriter Charles Dance.

The face of Tywin Lannister will be lending his voice in the upcoming Witcher RPG.

The actor, who is well-known for his role as Tywin Lannister in HBO series Game of Thrones, will be voicing the Nilfgaardian emperor Emhyr var Emreis in the upcoming RPG. The game's lead writer Marcin Blacha said that "it's a dream come true for the team at RED" to work with Dance.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is the third and final game in the Witcher series that will be out for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The RPG will be open-world; the Xbox One version features SmartGlass support for inventory management and "character development".

Getting a job in these games seems appropriate after being in Game of Thrones. The Witcher games always reminds me of GoT.

All the Game of Thrones people are set for life as voice actors if they want it.

Always remember this guy from Last Action Hero, he played a great villain.

1st movie I though of? The Golden Child with Eddie Murphy. He is Noobsie (I think that's how you spell it.)

"Emhyr Var Emreis, spice merchant."

"A trader then...?"

"...in spices!"

One of my favorite scenes from TW2 xD.

On topic, though: Great choice to voice the "White Flame Dancing on the Barrows of His Enemies."

Nice!  That's a cool character in the books, although they only scratched the surface.

Hey guys just a friendly reminder that spoilers will not be allowed here.

@Sefrix Spoiler: Earth is the third planet in the solar system. Do I get a ban now?

Krauklis

@Sefrix So telling people Hitler lost WWII would not be allowed here? Since it kinda spoils the ending for CoH 2.

Is Harry killing Voldemort still a spoiler?

How many years have to pass till something is not a spoiler anymore?

13 years should be a long enough time.

Alright should be clean now. I'll keep an eye on this throughout the day as I can. My apologies to anyone who got something spoiled for them.

@voljin1987 @hadlee73 Hmm not sure if you're never seen Game of Thrones or whether you've just replied to the wrong comment, as that didn't really make any sense in the context of what I said.

@nasser_m200 @Stiler Yeah I know, I love Game of Thrones and he plays his role well in it.

Just always remember seeing him first in Last Action Hero, he played the main villain but he had a kind of sarcastic twit about him.

@Krauklis @Sefrix No matter how many years have passed since the release of a book, game or movie, spoiling the ending or key aspects of the story is always going to be wrong. Because not all people read, watch, or play those things when they are realesed. Just beacuse you read it, watch it or played it before does not give you the right to spoil thing for others who haven't. Example: Game of Thrones was published in my country just recently in 2011, 14 years after the original release. So no, 13 years is not long enough.

@Krauklis I went ahead and allowed this to further explain. Your examples don't really pertain to this situation as the TV series (and for a lot of people their only experience with the material) is not 13 years old. The comments would have been no different than someone spoiling The Walked Dead from the comics while the show has not gotten to that point yet or only recently had.

Additionally, and more importantly, people vocalized that they were having the story spoiled, even in direct response to the comments made yet the comments remained. It's fine to believe that something *should* be okay to do, but if it's upsetting other people then it's not needed regardless of the rules that already don't allow it in the first place. That's just unkind.

@voljin1987 @hadlee73 I should mention, I didn't actually take *your* comment as an insult. Because I didn't remember the gold thing I was genuinely confused as to whether you were meaning to reply to me or not :)

hadlee73
hadlee73

@voljin1987 @hadlee73 I have read them, but it was a few years ago. I remember much of the story but not as much about Tywin himself. The problem with someone saying that someone else isn't a "real fan" belittles them unnecessarily, much like how Trekkers can belittle Star Trek fans for not knowing every quote in the original television series. "Real fans" sometimes forget that its the "not-so-real" fans that tend to keep their books and TV series going through the bulk of sales and ratings.

voljin1987
voljin1987

@hadlee73 dude take a chill pill.. it wasnt an insult.. there is a standing joke in the books that the reason lannisters are so rich is because tywin shits gold.. i figured u had read the books

hadlee73
hadlee73

@aeterna789 @hadlee73 @voljin1987 I love it, that's awesome. Insult fans that might not be as die hard and belittle them so that they might actually be driven away and cease supporting the series. Not sure if you were born a <v^+ or trained to be one :)

@hadlee73 @voljin1987 lol, he's comment is in the right place. A real Game of Thrones fan would have know this as it is both in the TV Series and the Books.

@Krauklis Replied via PM. The comments on this article do not need a lengthy explanation, I just wanted to add the reasoning for other users so that it hopefully won't happen again (by any users who read this). It's always a good idea to keep other users in mind when commenting.

@Sefrix @Krauklis Could you please give me a link to the place in the rules where spoilers are forbidden? I was not aware of such a rule.
