Game Guides Don Ratings

BradyGAMES adds ESRB rating system to its game guides.

Taking software ratings to the next level, BradyGAMES announced that it will use the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) rating system to label its guides to make sure parents know what they're purchasing for their younger gamers. Basically, the guide will use the same rating as the game does.

"We at BradyGAMES would like to do what we can to help parents make informed decisions as to which games are appropriate for their children," said Lynn Zingraf, vice president and publisher of BradyGAMES. "By echoing the rating for a game on our corresponding strategy guide, it will provide one more check point for parents to use in their evaluation of what games they will allow their children to purchase. This will also help retail personnel screen their customers for age-appropriate material."

The odd thing about placing an ESRB rating on a guide is that gamers would need to purchase the game before purchasing a guide - maybe we're mistaken.
