Concentric and UGO's one-stop online game shop has launched and is ready for business.

During the glitz and gore of E3, The Game Gateway from Concentric Network and Unified Gamers Online was launched as a one-stop service for online multiplayer gaming.

Currently partnered with four companies (Infogrames Entertainment, Kesmai, ENGAGE, and On-line PLC), the new venture was described to GS News as a super-network, a "smorgasbord service" that would bring online gaming to a broader mainstream audience. Now, gamers can find 27 games for play, including a poker and tennis game, and more hard-core titles like TEN's MultiPlayer BattleTech and ENGAGE's Warcraft II. Companies expected to join the site within the next few months are TEN, iMagic Online, and MPG-Net.

The Game Gateway gives players access to these services for $1.75 per hour. Players who join will get a CD-ROM with everything they need, including a version of BackWeb's client software.
