LucasArts has announced that Star Wars Galaxies now has a total of 275,000 registered users. Released at the end of June, Galaxies ranks as the second largest online game in the US, in terms of registered users, behind Sony Online's EverQuest and ahead of Mythic's Dark Age of Camelot. Galaxies saw brisk retail sales as soon as it was released and held the number three position on NPD's PC game sales charts for June and July.

The Galaxies development team is working on new content that will be added to the game in the coming months. New features will include player-owned ground vehicles, player mounts, and player cities that were originally planned for the initial release of the game.
