Fruit Ninja competition heading to Australian capitals

Fruit Ninja fans from Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane are invited to enter for a chance to win the title of Fruit Ninja Master; winner to receive a trip for two to Japan, plus more.

Fruit Ninja developer Halfbrick has announced a touring competition, to be held later this month, to search for Australia's best Fruit Ninja player.

The weeklong competition will be held in capital cities Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, starting from next week, with the finals slated later, on May 30, in Sydney. Fans of the popular mobile title are invited to come along and compete on one of the 30 iPad stations in each location, for a place in the final. The player crowned Australia's Fruit Ninja Master will win a trip for two to Japan, as well as thousands of dollars in other prizes.

The competition will be a part of Halfbrick's Fruit Ninja Anniversary Tour, the studio's celebration of the game's success since its launch two years ago. During the competition, participants will have a chance to meet the Halfbrick team, as well as check out the latest Fruit Ninja update, which will be available at the event.

Everyone who enters will also score a free download code for Fruit Ninja on the Apple App Store.

Sydney
Thursday, May 24--Darling Harbour, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Melbourne
Saturday, May 26--Federation Square, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.

Brisbane
Monday, May 21--Queen Street Mall, 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
